" President Donald Trump on Monday shrugged off the possible collapse of peace negotiations with Iran, telling CNBC, “I don’t care if they’re over, honestly.”

“I really don’t care. I couldn’t care less,” Trump told CNBC’s Eamon Javers in a phone interview midday Monday, saying he thought the protracted talks “started to get very boring.”

Trump had been asked about reporting that Iranian negotiators will stop communications with the U.S., and that Tehran will move to “completely block” the Strait of Hormuz, due to Israel’s military operations in Lebanon.

Trump said that he was “going to ask” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “what’s going on with Lebanon.” Reuters reported later Monday afternoon that Trump spoke with Netanyahu on the phone.

Doesn’t seem like things are going well

The invasion rhetoric I think is a bluff but you never know with the gaggle of idiots.

The deaths are the first reported since a U.S. blockade on Iran-linked shipping began on April 13 in which U.S. forces have disabled eight ships and turn back more than 100 others."

Trump demanding the agreement / "deal" with Iran be signed on his 80th birthday has a certain North Korean flair to it.

^^ I think 15

also I think hundreds of billions of dollars, dozens of aircraft destroyed, credibility damaged, economy hurt/inflation further stoked, an old-as-dirt leader killed and replaced with a much younger, even more extreme, now highly motivated to resist leader--but maybe de facto military leadership of the country.

Oh, and Iran and everyone else realizes the power they can wield with the Strait. Also sounds like they plan to charge fees to transit it now.

and tons of money given to them. I've heard $25B on the low end and $300B on the high end--prob depends on what you count and the details of the final agreement.

Unless we can negotiate a broad agreement that seriously reigns in their overall malign activity, this is a huge loss from the status quo, in my opinion

and an even bigger loss from what we would have had if we had kept highly imperfect JCPOA.

I guess it depends on how you count. looks like 13 combat-related deaths; 2 more service members deployed in theater who died from non-combat stuff

Even though it doesn’t achieve any of trumps stated goals, this Iran deal is the best we’ll get at this point. Kick the can down the road until we have smarter people in charge, meanwhile let Iran’s economy open to the world— historically trade is the best way to shift a culture.

Trump butthurt so he lashes out at Iran, which causes Iran to get butthurt and leave the talks. Wonder if JD can salvage something here. I'm still waiting a few more days before I get gas...

Here's a novel approach.

Get gas when you need it at the station with the lowest price that doesn't take you out of your way.

Right, IF you need it. Otherwise you're just spending your interest-earning money now and making a bet about future prices.

Unless you're planning to start stockpiling when prices are low and then underselling stations when prices are higher.

But prices can just as easily go the other way, meaning you rushed to buy when prices were high. This is not worth expending any mental energy on.

I think you vastly overestimate how much mental energy I'm spending and how much interest I'm earning on that 30 bucks

If gas keeps going down, great!

I fill up when I'm close to empty, because it's an annoying chore that I wish I didn't have to do at all.

Point was if you fill up half your tank now and prices keep dropping, then in your eagerness you actually paid MORE money for half your tank, and you had to stop twice instead of once. I don't think my viewpoint is common, and I don't expect it to catch on, but pitching it out there anyway.

LOL!

I always observe. I rarely react.

I needed gas, so I got it. With a cash back credit card.

Next month starts a quarter with 5% cash back on gas.

But anyway, $3.199 at QT.

Great job, President Trump!
