I would imagine with a better surrounding cast his stats would be better. *shocker*

^^ it doesn't really work like that. NBA players are who they are for the most part. Your numbers can waffle a little but things like rebound rate, turnover rate, shooting % are remarkably consistent each season once you hit 25 or so and reach your peak playing ability. What really holds Kemba back is his ballhandling. It seems to limit his ability to get good shots. He did improve dramatically last offseason, so hopefully he'll continue to develop into a starting caliber NBA PG.[Edited on December 28, 2012 at 12:41 AM. Reason : a]

The streak ends

Won again tonight in OT at Detroit. Kemba hit a floater to tie it at the end of regulation, then took over in OT. It doesn't really mean anything -- Detroit looked pretty bad -- but I'm glad the team gets to enjoy some wins again.

Bobcats win!? Today must be opposite day

Bobcats fan or not, the ending of this game was unreal. It had NC State shit written all over it ... but then, miraculously it didn'thttp://www.nba.com/games/20130126/MINCHA/gameinfo.html?ls=iref:nbahpgt[0021200645]

^agreedGood comeback to take the lead, then daggers from the twolves til the last minute. Glad to see bismack in there during crunch time and the bobcats on the right side of a close game.
1/26/2013 11:52:49 PM
Big win tonight. Ended Boston's 7 game win streak. Sessions hit the go-ahead jumper with 20 seconds left. This after Henderson hit a huge 3 to cut the lead to 1.Also wanted to give a shout out to Byron Mullens. Dude is goofy as hell sometimes, but the Bobcats are a MUCH better team when he's out there. 25 points, 18 rebounds tonight.
2/11/2013 11:11:59 PM
Mullens still settles for the 3 pointer too often, but he's been crashing the boards like a beast latelyeven face would be proud of his WP48

Looks like we're probably going to get Portland's first rounder this year. It's top 12 protected, but they figure to finish 13-15. Not a particularly deep draft but not a big deal if we take the pick now because it's top 12 protected the next three years anyway. I guess it'd ultimately be better to pray for unprotected 2016 pick that's really good but that seems like a longshot. The real one to sweat is Detroit's as it's top 14 protected this year, but drops to top 8, then top 1, unprotected. We need that to end up as a good one to offset the first round pick we have to give up eventually for that Tyrus Thomas trade. As of right now it looks like Detroit's pick will roll over another year, but with Drummond morphing into a total stud I think we're going to get it next year unfortunately.
2/12/2013 7:27:38 AM
After watching McLemore last night, I'm all for taking him if the Bobcats get the first pick. Henderson is a perfectly decent 2G, but McLemore is lethal from 3 and really athletic. His offense would also take pressure off MKG to score.I know Noel would be the natural pick, since we need help down low, but I just don't see that he brings much more than Bismack at this point. Both are good on defense and terrible on offense.Still need to get some help down low though. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Plumlee might actually be a decent pick with our second 1st-rounder. And this might be the homer in me, but I'd love if the Bobcats can somehow get Howell late in the 2nd round. I'm not sure if they have a 2nd rounder or not, but maybe.
2/12/2013 7:52:56 AM
I'd like to see us get noel and plumlee and let mullens go and let Henderson play out his qualifying offer to see if he can put it altogether.

Bobcats lost tonight, but MKG had the dunk of the season. Completely posterized Greg Monroe. Worth watching:http://www.nba.com/games/20130220/DETCHA/gameinfo.html?ls=iref:nbahpgt0021200799[Edited on February 20, 2013 at 11:04 PM. Reason : click on the SALON TREATMENT link to the side]

MKG dunk was #1 play on sportscenter. Just a dirty facial.^ That's what happens when you trade away the NBA Finals MVP for Matt Caroll.
2/21/2013 6:44:55 AM
It shows his potentials. Bobcats have not much to watch.

damn that was an amazing dunk. unfortunately i had turned the game off about 10 minutes before that happened.

2/21/2013 4:27:20 PM
haha what a pointless trade...Warrick had a team option for next season but that's really the only contract difference. they both have minimal impact on the court.should have tried to swing a trade for JJ...HICKSON not choir boy Redick
2/21/2013 4:42:23 PM
uh there is nothing pointless about that trade. Warrick is unplayable, the guy absolutely blows.McRoberts was really good the last two years in Indiana and LAL and he's still young with potential. He's been below average this season, but still not a huge negative like Warrick. Good move, we get to audition him cheap and see if he's worth retaining going forward.McRoberts is a legitimate rotation big man, which we need. Warrick is probably out of the league after this season. He is fucking terrible.[Edited on February 21, 2013 at 5:19 PM. Reason : a]
2/21/2013 5:13:37 PM
Kemba Walker is the only legitimate starter this team has. Everyone else is 6th man material or bench fodder.
2/22/2013 11:50:53 PM
while i generally agree, MKG is only 19 years old...I think he'll be finehopefully Rich Cho's golden boy Bismack can get his shit together...offensively he is horrible, but he is only 20 years old, so we'll see
2/23/2013 12:06:17 AM
Bismack has a place on the team. You can always use a tough, defending, rebounding guy. However, you have to build around that with talent that can put the ball in the basket. Not guys like MKG(Bismack, but smaller) and Gerald Henderson. There needs to be a legit scorer outside of Kemba on this team.
2/23/2013 12:43:18 AM
can't expect MKG to perfect his jumpshot in a half season, his upside is awesome thoughand I realize you need a defensive force in the middle, which Bismack is, but I'd like for him to be able to at least catch a pass without losing it out of bounds...the guy has only been playing basketball for a few years, so hopefully he'll improve
2/23/2013 12:47:36 AM
MKG will be serviceable, and hell, maybe even starter material. I just don't see him ever becoming a guy that will avg more than 13-15 pts per game. I could see his BEST season looking like 15/7/4 with lockdown defense. That would be good enough.
2/23/2013 1:31:33 AM
thinkin about going to a game soon...those that have been, whats the best way to go about getting tickets?
2/25/2013 5:52:04 AM
MKG is already playing at an NBA starter level. The guy is already good. He has a chance to become an elite SF for sure.He and Kemba have both produced 3.67 wins this season and MKG has done it in significantly less minutes.Granted, PG is absolutely stacked in the NBA right now so Kemba has some pretty tough numbers to replicate to achieve the same amount of wins MKG can produce at SF.But anytime you have a SF putting up .134 wp/48 as a NINETEEN year old that's a pretty damn good sign[Edited on February 25, 2013 at 7:13 AM. 2 days in a row without a Bobcats loss!because they havent played in the last 2 daysthis team is so worthless, i dont even care about the hornets name, because the bobcats are not the hornets
2/26/2013 12:05:46 AM
They're terrible, no doubt. But when you watch them, they really don't seem that far off. Kemba is becoming a great PG and floor leader. MKG will be big time when he gets a decent shot (hopefully this offseason). Sessions and Henderson are good players, and both can create good shots. Jeff Taylor could be a solid 3 and d player. If they can just get something (ANYTHING) going in the front court, they might not completely suck. Biyombo needs to find some offense and learn how to catch. Mullens needs to play with more intensity and gain some strength. But in reality, both of those guys should be coming off the bench. They need a quality big desperately. Maybe Zeller could help down there.
2/26/2013 12:30:33 AM
eh, we're pretty far off still. We have a point differential of -9.2 per game on the season.Just for reference the Cavaliers are a whopping 5.6 points per game better than that and they are 18-38.Kemba has become a solid player to my surprise and might be a long-term solution. Sessions has been a disappointment but he was a stopgap anyway. MKG should be playing at an all-star level in a few years. Biyombo is already almost an average center this season which is a great sign given his youth/inexperience. Henderson unfortunately has never developed into starter quality, so hopefully we don't give him a sizeable extension. He's a rotation player but the last thing you want to do is sign rotation players before you have a starting lineup intact.Mullens is still completely worthless and at this point I doubt he ever becomes a net positive player on the court. He's maxxed his potential and should be let go.Jeff Taylor is a total zero this season. I don't like his long term prospects, but he's cheap so may as well give him another season.Hopefully McRoberts is productive for us, he definitely fills a position of need.
2/26/2013 1:18:38 AM
If they finally get the #1 pick, who do they take? Noel? McLemore? Shabazz?
2/26/2013 1:33:54 AM
whoever they take, they better not let jordan have any input at all on the decision
2/26/2013 1:36:10 AM
^^ You already know the draft?
2/26/2013 1:51:38 AM
I don't think Noel will go #1 after his knee injury. There certainly isn't a clear cut #1 pick right now, and we'll only have a 25% (assuming we stay in last place) chance at it anyway.I think either Zeller, Smart, or Shabazz will go #1 overall just because size is so important in the NBA. McLemore will definitely be in the top 3-4, but teams don't seem to commit to SG at #1 overall. Bennett is a sleeper too because he's the type of guy who could absolutely dominate 1 on 1 and workouts with NBA teams. It's a little early to say since most scouts overreact to whatever a guy does in the NCAA tourney.Honestly, I think we'd be best off slotting at around 3rd or 4th pick anyway to save the cap space. Any of these guys could help us a good bit and I don't think any of them justify the premium $ that the #1 and #2 picks will cost to sign. Unless of course we end up trading the pick in which case we'd want the highest pick possible. I kinda hope we don't do that though, we're better off building through the draft unless a home run trade surfaces like James Harden almost did last year.[Edited on February 26, 2013 at 3:16 AM.
