^learn that a toepick is only for jumps, not stopping.

a snowplow stop is pretty much bringing your toes together ^ to stop. or you can do a one footed snowplow where you bring one foot up \. there is also the T stop but that is more complicated.

i dont think a t-stop is that bad, i think i always stop that way (i dont think i could do the toes in thing). You just turn slide your heel out to the side and youll catch the ice and stop

the T stop is like a backwards T in that you bring one foot behind the other to form it and have to put your weight on the back foot and stop with the inside edge of your blade dragging in. some people lean back too far and bust their butts.

oh and when you learn how to skate, bend your knees and fall on your butt!
