My girlfriend would think those quite ugly.

Me and my girlfriend decided to imitate what a "couple-friend" of ours did last year and was exchange stockings on Christmas instead of a wrapped gift. Whoever told me this was to save money was a fucking liar, and the guy who did this last year just had a horrible breakup with his girlfriend, so I'm not all that hyped about the exchange. We set a budget ceiling but of course both of us went over it, and it's basically just ending up as expensive as a single present would have been. Either way, it'll be better than last christmas--I got a battery-powered alarm clock that looked like it was from the discount bin.

In her stocking, most of it ordered online:

-Origami stickynotes
-Stapleless stapler that looks like a purple dog
-Gourmet chocolate truffles from our favorite chocolatier in Raleigh
-Dark Chocolate Godiva Cocoa mix
-Plush Sushi... hard to explain. http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/plush/c4a6/
-9-piece Sushi Set w/ Bamboo rolling mats, molds, paddles, etc.
-Cheap-ass filler candy for the parts that don't quite fit
-The stocking itself, which nice ones are way too expensive

Not my favorite Christmas idea but hey, at least I went out of my way to make it non-generic.


EDIT: About the whole lingerie discussion--been there, done that. Last girlfriend would always get it for herself "for me" on my birthday. Ladies, if you're going to buy yourself lingerie for men for THEIR gift, you BETTER use it a LOT to make it worthwhile, and you should stuff some coupons for a sexual act of their choice without question (or talking) in it.

i can't see what you ordered. that sucks about j.crew. my coworker had a lot of issues with them in regards to ordering some things. it's kind of shit also that they waited until 3 days before Christmas to tell you they weren't shipping your gift.

damn that sucks! i had some issues with UPS not updating the website with my tracking information so i had no idea when my package was arriving. it was straight annoying. i called UPS one day and they were like, oh well if it doesnt show up in 2 days call back. so i did and of course i get the automated voice that's like, "we're not answering calls due to high holiday volume."

^7 She's Japanese/Italian. She needed a decent sushi set, despite her Japanese grandmother's insistence that she would fund/teach her. The plush sushi is because she likes stuffed things and sushi. Origami because it's cool. It's not PARTICULARLY Japanese themed so much as just sushi/Asian. She's not one of those white anime chicks that are particularly abundant.
