is that a field of rape flowers?

I loved seeing those from the trains because they're so pretty, but not so much in real life because i'm crazy allergic to them

OMG I wish I had been in Japan during the sakura season!

and how on earth is this

a small bathroom? This is larger than the one I had when I was sharing a bathroom with someone in Japan. Other facilities I've seen have amazingly small bathrooms.

We went cherry blossom viewing yesterday (read: an excuse to go drinking)

The weather was kind of sucky but it was still fun.

It doesn't look like Nagoya castle to me. I don't think it looks big enough.

It's Nagahama castle. Built way back in 1983.

I noted that most of the castles are really tiny once you go into them. At least by European castle standards.

Yeah, a lot of them aren't even castles. They're more like forts by the English definition of castle.

i don't know if that's incredibly awesome or terribly cruel. it's an extreme either way, though.

Yeah, that's the conflicted feeling I have every time I see an animal show in this country.

In Kyoto they have homeless people that breed cats so they can tie them to a table and ask people to give them money to feed the kittens. Then when the kittens get too big to be considered cute anymore they either drown them or dump them in another part of town.

Even worse are the pet stores they have around here where the puppies are forced to lay in their own urine and have hair falling out and burns on their skin associated with it.

Pull your pants down, squat, and try to keep your pants out of the way. Oftentimes these things are covered in piss around the base.
