There's this girl I work with who was talking about how people guessed she weighed 170, when really she weighed 230. She seemed pretty happy about it. Also she's 5'3", also she has 40+% body fat.

Women should naturally have higher body fat, they need it for when they get preggers.

20%-29% is a healthy body fat percent for a girl.

And here's some info on Body Mass Index (what you should weigh for how tall you are):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_mass_index

Basically, do Weight (lbs) * 703 / height (inches) ^ 2

BMI < 18.5 means your under weight
BMI 18.5-25 means your normal weight
BMI 25-30 means your over weight
BMI > 30 means your obese

6' 4" - 278 lbs.

My 12 mo. low is 257 which was about a year ago. I am currently the heaviest I have been since I got married.

I am a creature of stress. When I am under a lot of stress, I put on weight. When I am not, I lose weight.

Also, the lightest/skinniest I have ever been was when I was 19. I weighed 225. Even then I wore a 17 1/2" - 34 - 35 Shirt and 36x34 pants. I am big boned as well. BMI is a crock of shit for me. At 4% body fat, by the BMI I would still be overweight.

BMI isn't perfect but its a good general indicator. Remember fat weighs more than muscle so bmi can be relatively skewed if your a gym nut or something.

^^^ it's not the volume that's an issue, they're actually almost equal

it's just that a pound of fat weighs almost twice as much as a pound of muscle

No I meant weighs more. If you took the same mass of fat and muscle then muscle would weigh more.

I'm on an itouch here :p

Yeah I got it backwards up there and I guess it is density. Still equal mass of muscle and fat the muscle will weigh more. Which was what I was trying to get at. The other problem is that people measure a success of a diet by pounds and not inches off the waist. If you lose 10 lbs you could just be replacing muscle with fat. Which is fail.

195 as of this morning at 6'4". Going for another 10lbs. For the year, I was 275lbs 11 months ago, as my high. BMI is in the normal range, not sure of body fat %.

Last time I was sub 200lbs, I was in 7th or 8th grade. Over 10 years ago.
