it really depends...with my six-year relationship girlfriend, i rarely used a condom after the first year and she wasn't on the pill

maybe i was just good at the pull out method or maybe my swimmers are slow and/or lazy or maybe she's sterile, who knows

I had been on the pill for years but went off it almost a year ago because it was getting expensive and there was a paid (non-hormonal) birth control study that I qualified for. After the study ended I decided not to go back on the pill because I feel way less emotional/crazy and it made weight loss way easier. The biggest downsides - zits and condoms I have to be more diligent about washing my face at night and after workouts otherwise I break out. And I would need to have surgery if I wanted to get pregnant, so condoms are only necessary when I'm not in a monogamous relationship.

I’m married with 1.5 kids now.

Used condoms with girls I slept with who weren’t on the pill (either dating or one nighters) and no condoms when a girl was on the pill (both dating and one nighters still). I used to do a little pulling out but that was mostly for the thrill of how close can we make it and to see a little ‘baby juice’ on the stomach.

Pre-kids my wife and I used her IUD and that worked really well. We’ve conceived twice and this most recent time took one time and not even in a particularly fertile window. I now understand what a game of roulette I was playing by pulling out those times.
