This season may have been a real downer FOR YOU, but I've mostly enjoyed it. I thoroughly enjoyed beating Duke (when they were #1), UNC (when we put on a shooting clinic), watching Scott Wood light it up all season long, watching Richard Howell fucking dominate the glass, and seeing TJ Warren score 20+ points multiple times. CJ Leslie had a number of great games too, along with Brown, Purvis, and Lewis. The only real heartbreaking game for me was the Miami loss because we played so well and had every opportunity to win. The final FSU loss pissed me off, but I wasn't surprised and got over it. Didn't expect to win at UNC/Duke/Maryland/UM, because I knew better.

Am I as fond of this team as last year's? Yes and no. I think everybody thought we would suck last year, so it was fun watching them surprise everyone and pull out close wins at the end. We also had more depth and what looked like better chemistry/team work. But this year has been great too, so long as you weren't expecting an 18-0 ACC season and a top seed in the NCAAs. You can't say we haven't improved, and based on what happened last year, I will take that any day.

I know you were expecting an 18-0 record and a #1 ranking, but come on.

I think for me the disappointment set in not because we lost at Duke or Carolina or MD, but when you combine that with losing to Wake and UVA and FSU along with taking a last second shot to beat clemson and going to OT with VT at home. While we are a few shots away from a much better record we are also a few shots away from not having even made the tourney.

I'd rather barely win than barely lose. Some people on this board act like barely winning is the same thing as losing, but it isn't.

Meh barely beating VT at home is just as bad to me if not worse than barely losing to Duke in Cameron or something similar. I guess I prefer to expect things to be bad and overachieve like last year than expect us to be a pretty good team and then it not happen. Either way I watched pretty much every game and enjoyed at least some of the season haha.

yeah that game against Carolina last year in the ACC tourney was so awesome when we barely lost. Much better than that awful VT win we had this year.

So back to a less hatred-filled reality...

Looking at the game times we have it so much easier than UNC

play temple friday at 1:40 and then if we win, play Indiana sunday at 5:30

UNC plays Nova friday at 7:20 (kansas plays friday at 9:50) and then their next game is saturday at 12:15

Joke all you want, but Nate Silver said the same exact thing. It is more likely for a team with lofty preason expectations that underwhelms in the regular season to live up to expectations in the tourney than it is for a team (like Mimai) to basically do the exact opposite.

Plus, Chuck is HUGE I mean HUGE HUGE on having talent in the NCAAs. Since NC State has the talent, it definitely doesn't surprise me that he is on the bandwagon a bit.

I agree that we are super talented and can go far, but Indiana is pretty much our nightmare matchup. They are more talented, well coached and have a boatload of confidence. There are only a couple other teams in the tourney that i could say that about. It will take a minor miracle for us to win.

Sucks we couldn't get a 6 seed or better and put off a big time matchup until a little later in the tourney.

Zeller, Oladipo, Hulls and Sheehey are all badasses

except that everyone realizes that's what he's doing which is why we think he should be suspended. he will also react this way to sensible, reasonable criticism. so it's not particularly clever actually
