A little worrisome that a 6'0" true freshman smoked us for 23 points shooting 5/7 from 3. But the rest of their team shot ~31% from 3, so maybe he really is that good?

I don't see us losing more than 4 games this year [in football] and we're going undefeated in basketball.

I'm too lazy to dig through the historical stats, but I'm guessing we are undefeated when Snell scores. If Wade is thinking what I'm thinking, we'll just play Snell 25+ minutes a game for the rest of the season so that he's guaranteed to score and guarantee an undefeated season.

Sorry for the upcoming numbers dump but I’m a big analytics guy so just bear with me. I’ll try to simplify it for those without a statistical backup.

Last night’s opponent, NCCU, isn’t very good at basketball. For reference, they are ranked 336 in KenPom. And you are probably saying “now wait a second, dmspack, that might be a solid ranking if there’s like 10,000 teams”. Well there’s not 10,000 teams. There’s 365 in D1. So 336 is not good.

Our next opponent is UAB. As of this posting, UAB has won 100% of its games this season. My fellow analytics nerds will point out that this is actually quite a small sample size (1 game) so maybe don’t focus too much on their record. But they are ranked 95 in KenPom. Which is substantially higher than Central. By now you’re probably thinking “Dancing L incoming”. But wait! Our beloved Wolfpack is 31 in KenPom (in this case 31 > 95, weird I know). And we’ve also won 100% of our games. Long story short, we have a game Friday against UAB and you’ll just have to tune in to see what happens. The data can tell us a lot, but it can’t predict the future (yet!).
