precip shield has eroded considerably, combined with the delay in cold air coming in. measure snow will only begin late this evening and only then a little dusting

and im still waiting to see something like the "official BDubLS1 forecast thread" - where you actually talk about this stuff before zero hour and give some meaningful predictions on things like temperature and precipitation, wind speed, etc everyday for a month and earn the badge to come into the damn snow threads and start talking about eroding moisture pockets and diminishing echo particle matter.

seriously. its obvious that at best weather guys can just predict the possibility of what may happen and give us a guideline (which is good enough for me)

Hey when the ingredients are there and it's a threat to the region, you've got to warn the public. It's like spring when they issue those severe thunderstorm and tornado watch. The ingredients are there to produce say hail, heavy winds, tornadoes, or snow storms. There is still a lot more work the meteorologists have to do to come up with a somewhat consistent and accurate forecast for events like these.
