haha nice
1/6/2010 10:09:27 PM
Did they fix the poll so that it's no longer cookie based?
1/6/2010 10:10:29 PM
they could be blocking IPs, or changed how it treats cookies, or perhaps the x and y (see my post a few posts ago) have something to do with authentication.
1/6/2010 10:12:19 PM
1/6/2010 10:13:26 PM
^Did you try the private browsing in Firefox or Incongnito in Chrome?
1/6/2010 10:17:14 PM
nah - i don't care about it that much - just looks like they cleaned house and started blocking what you guys were doing
1/6/2010 10:18:18 PM
They block IPs after a few hits.
1/6/2010 10:19:48 PM
i stopped. the screencap is enough to keep me happy on a similar note, is news 14 still angry at TWW? that was before my time, so i wasn't a part of it.
1/6/2010 10:23:07 PM
If you sleep 5, they don't seem to stop taking your votes.
1/6/2010 10:25:10 PM
i wish i got a screenshot of when we had 1.2 million votes though.. oh well.
1/6/2010 10:29:17 PM
So... proxy servers out of the question?nevermind. I just realized it'd ban the proxy.[Edited on January 6, 2010 at 10:36 PM. Reason : .]
1/6/2010 10:33:48 PM
Well, my IP is banned again.
1/6/2010 10:34:15 PM
hahaha
1/6/2010 10:40:34 PM
Comments have to be approved? I posted "kiplinger PWNT, stay home"Let's see if it shows up
1/6/2010 10:43:18 PM
^i posted the exact same thing last night and it never made it up.
1/6/2010 10:48:05 PM
1/6/2010 10:49:50 PM
I tried to post "Aw, fiddlesticks" under the name Roy Williams and my comment was apparently not approved
1/6/2010 10:50:22 PM
I don't think I want to go as far as IP spoofing.
1/6/2010 10:53:11 PM
1/6/2010 10:58:49 PM
That reminds me I should run Cain & Abel and see what people on base are up to.
1/6/2010 10:59:39 PM
would the old ip refresh / renew trick workdont laugh . i have no idea what im talking about
1/6/2010 11:01:26 PM
Even if it did, it would only buy you 5 votes.PS, you still hate me?
1/6/2010 11:04:41 PM
1/6/2010 11:05:26 PM
I wonder if they're banning by User Agent?[Edited on January 6, 2010 at 11:11 PM. Reason : Nope, definitely IP.]
1/6/2010 11:09:12 PM
1/6/2010 11:13:22 PM
haha, they deleted them again
1/6/2010 11:34:00 PM
back down to 319
1/6/2010 11:36:15 PM
I know how to automate it again.
1/6/2010 11:37:46 PM
Pushed it to 400.
1/6/2010 11:39:03 PM

1/7/2010 12:11:29 AM
Working on automation
1/7/2010 12:12:26 AM
gah right as i'm going to bed again.
1/7/2010 12:13:09 AM
how many resets before they take us off the listi'd keep trying to find fixes until they took UNC off the list somehow...
1/7/2010 12:15:59 AM
you can delete the "pc_cookie" turn cookies off and refresh as much as you want.
1/7/2010 12:17:12 AM
wget --cookies=off --delete-after -U "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6" --referer="http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/colleges/vote.php" "http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/colleges/vote.php?college=26&submit=vote"
1/7/2010 12:20:16 AM
i am proud to of been part of this
1/7/2010 12:24:10 AM
^“to have been"
1/7/2010 12:26:25 AM
1/7/2010 12:27:14 AM
Only change is that they check for the referer now.
1/7/2010 12:30:36 AM
I wonder why they don’t just check for the same IP voting 2x?
1/7/2010 12:35:42 AM
They must be morons.Edit for your setup, votes once for all except UNC.
:start for /L %%c in (1,1,50) do call :runWget %%c for /L %%c in (52,1,100) do call :runWget %%c sleep 5goto start:runWget wget --cookies=off --delete-after -U "Mozilla/5.0" --referer="http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/colleges/vote.php" "http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/colleges/vote.php?college=%1&submit=vote" sleep 1goto :eof
1/7/2010 12:44:13 AM
You could also just make it vote for NCSU if you wanted, but I want to see UNC at the bottom of the pile.
1/7/2010 12:45:58 AM
I think they aren't blocking IPs because of those on proxies and want them to be able to vote. Cookies and referer address are the only things that they're checking right now.
1/7/2010 12:55:20 AM
bash (for OS X/nix) command:
while true; do \for c in {1..50};\ do curl -A "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6" -e http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/colleges/vote.php \"http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/colleges/vote.php?college=$c&submit=vote&x=40&y=10"> /dev/null 2>&1;sleep .1;done;\for c in {52..100}; \do curl -A "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6" -e http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/colleges/vote.php\ "http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/colleges/vote.php?college=$c&submit=vote&x=40&y=10"> /dev/null 2>&1;sleep .1;\done;\ done
1/7/2010 12:57:44 AM
1/7/2010 1:03:13 AM
I still like the NCSU FTW setup...
1/7/2010 1:05:39 AM
lol i was gonna have it set the referrer to start with but didn't
1/7/2010 1:07:44 AM
wow, in about 2 minutes, UNC went from number 8 to be out of the top 25… nice
1/7/2010 1:08:25 AM
are they still only checking referrers? or do they ban IPs after a certain number of votes in n seconds or anything like that
1/7/2010 1:09:48 AM
