haha@the fatty pics. It's good motivation!

Is it true that weighing yourself during that time ladies is just going to turn your mood immediately sour? I've done everything right and I've gained back 2lbs! I've not cheated once!

How do you know that's not water weight? And when do you weight yourself, morning, evening, etc.?
I read somewhere that for every gram of carbohydrate the body retains about 1.7 g of water. Consider your carb intake as well.

Well, generally, during that ladies time women retain more water so I am sure that's it. My carb intake is low as I've been monitoring it on a nutrition website. I weigh myself in the morning everyday.

I'm usually up by 2-3 pounds then. It's just water and goes away after a few days.

i mean you can still weigh yourself during that time but just know that it's going to be a bit higher because of that reason. and try not to stress too much or you'll just get frustrated and eat an entire bar of chocolate

what you can do starting a few days before that time is to avoid salty foods and load up on a lot of water. it will help with the bloating and the retention of water. plus, i've read that it can help with cramps since cramps can be made worse by muscle dehydration.

I weigh myself every time I see a scale. Turning it into an impulse is critical because I'll forget and ignore it for weeks.

Then when I do remember, I'll come waddling out the bathroom like, "How'd the fuck I gain twenty pounds?" And my roommate is all, "Dude, your room is filled with empty beer cases and pizza boxes, and you haven't gotten out of bed in a month. I thought you knew..."

Yeah, I do it once a day to make sure I'm on the right track, especially right now. Also, seeing the scale go down helps motivate me.

PS I lost nearly all the weight from the you know what overnight. Thank God!

I weigh myself before and after workouts, to know if I'm dehydrated.

Scales are not all calibrated in the same. Hell, at our gym, we have 2 that are fairly consistant, but 3 lbs off, and another that is all of the place. On the last, I could get on it 3x in a few minutes, and have my "weight" move by several lbs each time. Women do love this one though, because it is consistently the lightest.

one legged squats are never fail

and she's toned with good muscle definition, you may not like that but you don't get that way by not consuming a well balanced diet.

Anorexic as hell? You don't get muscle tone like that without a healthy diet. Maybe she just has good genetics, paired with a clean diet and consistent exercise routine.

True - you can't be anorexic and have abs like that. If you're not supplying your body with protein and other nutrients, your body begins to eat away at the muscle in order to subsist.

for these purposes, its not retarded. But for fatties who just wanna flip a shit because they have lost .3 lbs in 2 days, its pointless, to me at least. This will often lead to frustration.

Anyways, I have been munching down on some flax seed, what are some other awesome wonder foods?

I have a trail mix made of raisins, cashews, almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, all organic.

I eat spinach a lot, chicken, turkey, ....speaking of which, where does one find nitrite free deli turkey?? We don't have a whole foods here..

You don't get much out of flax seeds if you eat them whole.

"Some call it one of the most powerful plant foods on the planet. There’s some evidence it can help reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. That’s quite a tall order for a tiny seed that’s been around for centuries: flaxseed.

* Omega-3 essential fatty acids, "good" fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects. Each tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains about 1.8 grams of plant omega-3s.
* Lignans, which have both plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities. Flaxseed contains 75- 800 times more lignans than other plant foods
* Fiber. Flaxseed contains both the soluble and insoluble types.
"

"Fish oils can be obtained from eating fish or by taking supplements. Fish that are especially rich in the beneficial oils known as omega-3 fatty acids include mackerel, tuna, salmon, sturgeon, mullet, bluefish, anchovy, sardines, herring, trout, and menhaden. They provide about 1 gram of omega-3 fatty acids in about 3.5 ounces of fish.

Fish oil supplements are usually made from mackerel, herring, tuna, halibut, salmon, cod liver, whale blubber, or seal blubber. Fish oil supplements often contain small amounts of vitamin E to prevent spoilage. They might also be combined with calcium, iron, or vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C, or D.

Fish oil is used for a wide range of conditions. It is most often used for conditions related to the heart and blood system. Some people use fish oil to lower blood pressure or triglyceride levels (fats related to cholesterol). Fish oil has also been tried for preventing heart disease or stroke. The scientific evidence suggests that fish oil really does lower high triglycerides, and it also seems to help prevent heart disease and stroke when taken in the recommended amounts. Ironically, taking too much fish oil can actually increase the risk of stroke.

Fish may have earned its reputation as “brain food” because some people eat fish to help with depression, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Alzheimer’s disease, and other thinking disorders.

Some people use fish oil for dry eyes, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a very common condition in older people that can lead to serious sight problems.

Women sometimes take fish oil to prevent painful periods; breast pain; and complications associated with pregnancy such as miscarriage, high blood pressure late in pregnancy, and early delivery.

Fish oil is also used for diabetes, asthma, developmental coordination disorders, movement disorders, dyslexia, obesity, kidney disease, weak bones (osteoporosis), certain diseases related to pain and swelling such as psoriasis, and preventing weight loss caused by some cancer drugs.

Fish oil is sometimes used after heart transplant surgery to prevent high blood pressure and kidney damage that can be caused by the surgery itself or by drugs used to reduce the chances that the body will reject the new heart. Fish oil is sometimes used after coronary artery bypass surgery. It seems to help keep the blood vessel that has been rerouted from closing up.

When fish oil is obtained by eating fish, the way the fish is prepared seems to make a difference. Eating broiled or baked fish appears to reduce the risk of heart disease, but eating fried fish or fish sandwiches not only cancels out the benefits of fish oil, but may actually increase heart disease risk.

Two of the most important omega-3 fatty acids contained in fish oil are eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). See separate listings for EPA and DHA.

Everything has its own benefit.

Flaxseeds and fish are two vastly different foods. If you are just comparing the omega-3 content, fish is much better, as the omega-3 fat in plant sources is ALA, which has to be converted to DHA in the body, the form found in fish. However, 10 grams of ALA only yields about 1 gram of DHA. So when you eat a serving of salmon or sardines and get 1-2 grams of DHA, that's like getting a tablespoon of flax oil.

Other than omega-3, flax has other benefits not found in fish, and vice versa.

Kind of at a stand still and it's pissing me off. I've been eating roughly 1200 calories of healthy stuff a day and working out 6 days a week, alternating cardio and strength. My weight is staying the same though it's still a 3lb. loss from where I started.

So all in all I'm pissed but I'm going to keep up the routine because I'm hoping eventually my body will lose the weight..
