We had a festival in town the other day:

They're supposed to be Brits

Something tells me he's never been to America, much less NCSU.

I'm just glad these weren't my students

This was the Panasonic dance group. One of these things is not like the others...

haha I'll probably stop by for breakfast before heading to my meeting. I haven't had Krispy Kreme since the last time I had to go to Tokyo on a business trip

When I was in Himeji I saw a guy with a Cardinal Gibbons High School t-shirt on. What are the freaking odds of that?

One day in Kyoto, we saw a guy with an old-school NCSU Jacket that had the old Mr. Wuf strutting his stuff.

I wanted to take that jacket from him.

When I was in Tokyo, I ran into a guy who went to NCSSM. He was one of the first classes to graduate. He told me that when I got back stateside, too look at the class pictures. He would be the black guy in the middle of the first row. I couldn't believe it. Sure enough, when I went to Watt's Lobby and looked at the old class pictures, he was there! Small world...

Higher than you'd think lol. Goodwill often sells their clothing in bulk that they think they can't sell in America to countries like Japan and China. They in turn sell them as "vintage American goods" for a ridiculous amount of money. The current fashion in Japan is for women to buy used boy scouts shirts and wear them as a dress with a belt over it.

the train station in kyoto is awesome, a really beautiful building.

bon odori festival was fun too, we went to gero which is technically the city my brother lives in (he lives in maze right next to hagiware). a little bit sad we didn't have time to go to the onsens since gero is famous for them.

nara was fun, especially getting accosted by deer every few feet
