In all of history, no weather prediction involving snow fall in Raleigh has EVER been CLOSE to what actually happened. I've lived here all my life, and the "fish" and all others have never got it right. Funny, though, how if the NWS says " 10" in NY City ", it snows 10" in NYC. Something to do with the computer models. NWS Southeast uses computer models meant for rainfall to try to predict snowfall, and Northeast region models have been calibrated for snowfall. BTW, have you notices that all the TV stations do is repeat the NWS forecast? Makes you wonder just how hard it is to become a weather anchor.
