The original was some words painted directly on the house, the last image I saw ITT looked like a sign attached to the house:But Cary's complaint was probably made when it was nothing more than paint applied directly to the house.[Edited on May 5, 2011 at 2:05 PM. Reason : -]
5/5/2011 2:00:11 PM
oh well that's definitely a sign then, lol.
5/5/2011 2:03:45 PM

You can't fight city hall. But you can killdozer the entire town on a suicide mission, especially if you have a terminal illness.[Edited on June 1, 2011 at 6:13 PM. Reason : He could have been an hero.]
6/1/2011 6:11:51 PM
Now that he's dead, I hope someone paints over that eyesore.

7/16/2011 5:20:43 PM
I wish I had that listing, would be the most hilarious listing ever.
7/16/2011 11:18:32 PM
What does this mean in terms of his lawsuit against Cary? Do they still have to pay his lawyers and give his family $1 if they lose the appeal? Or is it all through the ACLU and it doesn't matter that he's dead now?Tdub lawyers, you're my only hope!
7/17/2011 12:17:28 AM
His daughter has no desire to continue his fight in any way. She just wants to sell the house for what she can get for it, and move on. I even offered to take over for her but she just doesn't care. In some ways it sucks, cause it just means his entire fight was for nothing, but I can see if from her standpoint, she just wants it to all be over and done with.
7/17/2011 12:44:12 AM
Yeah if I were in her shoes I'd want absolutely nothing to do with it. Did Cary put a lien on the property? If so, wouldn't it then become the new owner's responsibility? Cary should just buy it, tear it down, and make it greenspace

7/17/2011 4:07:56 PM
She'd be a damn fool not to disclose the known issues on that house in the disclosure paperwork. Considering the amount of press that address has gotten that's just a lawsuit waiting to happen if she didn't disclose it to the property buyers, who somehow didn't know the press surrounding this house, then found it out later on.
7/17/2011 4:34:19 PM
Housing market is already terrible, nobody's going to buy this house unless they get it extremely cheap. Issues will probably be halfass fixed and it'll end up being a rental for some mexicans or something.
7/17/2011 4:43:29 PM
^^ it's not that she doesn't have to point out the defects it's that she doesn't have to COVER the defects if something does go wrong and flood again
7/17/2011 5:43:38 PM
She doesn't really even have to point out any defects, she can actually just say something like "I make no comment as to the condition of the yard drainage." I mean, that's basically saying you know something's up, but it's not putting it right out there, especially if the house is sold as-is.
7/17/2011 5:46:51 PM
They need to bulldoze the house and build some viewing decks. Then market it as "The Niagara Falls of the south"
7/17/2011 5:47:35 PM
http://m.newsobserver.com/observer/db_97301/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=kITQ5eYMApparently the daughter was "distraught" to take the sign down until the neighbors paid her to ^^ true, but on the NC disclosure form you have to check yes, no, or no representation. I guess she could check the third option but that would be dishonest imo.[Edited on July 29, 2011 at 8:36 AM. Reason : T]

It's weird how you put distraught in quotes, when it doesn't mention anything at all about her state of mind in the article. Then again, her father just died, do you think that's an inappropriate response? And would you have spent money out of your own pocket to remove the sign? I mean, if someone else is gonna pay for it, why the fuck wouldn't you let them? indeed.
7/29/2011 9:23:24 AM
Did you even read the article?
7/29/2011 9:49:47 AM
Eh, in a full browser, that link doesn't take you to the full story. Regardless, I still think you have a particularly cunty attitude towards the situation. Then again, Dawn is my cousin and I know that she's one of the kindest nicest, least selfish people I've ever met.[Edited on July 29, 2011 at 11:11 AM. Reason : And she really is pretty messed up at the moment. ]

What is going to happen to the prowler?
7/29/2011 12:07:53 PM
They bought some new wheels for it, and I think they're just gonna keep it in storage. I know it was in his will to use it to drive his ashes up to the mountains in, but aside from that, I don't think they have any particular plans for it.
7/29/2011 12:14:25 PM
^^^ So after being called the fuck out for being wrong, you still insist he's being a cunt? Yeah, you're a raging faggot.[Edited on July 29, 2011 at 12:15 PM. Reason : .]

I found this thread by searching for "cunty"

People inherit shitty houses all the time. I have toured a large number of the estate sale homes currently in the market in the Raleigh area. I have learned that there are two types of people selling estate properties.Type 1: Want to dump the house while putting zero effort into rehabbing the home. Homes are usually in disrepair and/or look like the Brady Bunch barfed all over the interior. Few people are willing to buy houses in those conditions so they sit on the market for some time.Type 2: Gut the interior or significantly rehab the home. Houses tend to sell for more than they would have if in type 1 condition and definitely sell faster. So yeah, it sucks she inherited a shitty house, but she's not in an abnormal situation. I bet everyone else who's ever inherited a home that looks like crap wish they could get their neighbors to help pay for some of the repairs.[Edited on July 29, 2011 at 12:46 PM. Reason : a]
