2/20/2007 6:48:11 PM
^^^ no way in shit I'm making mac and cheese from scratch. That is NOT easy.Ummm, I have lots of pasta, some chicken stock in the freezer, a couple cans cream of mushroom soup, some carrots, I think some chicken.I have to stop at the supermarket on the way home from work anyway so picking up some stuff is no issue as long as it's stocked in a Japanese supermarket ^ Mmm, chicken salad sounds pretty good. [Edited on February 20, 2007 at 6:49 PM. Reason : ..]
2/20/2007 6:48:46 PM
pan seared salmon, a pilaf and some peas and baby onions
2/20/2007 6:55:06 PM
ehehe, mac and cheese is ridiculously easyUmm...theres tons you can do with that. i dont really know where to beginsince you chicken stock..i'd suggest a soup. It takes 15 minutes of prep and to get it started, then walk away for an hour
2/20/2007 6:55:35 PM
Yeah, soup is super easy. I was also thinking nabe but we had that the other day and I doubt David wants to eat that twice in one week. If they didn't have such shitastic cheese at the supermarket I would just do fondue.
2/20/2007 6:57:19 PM
No idea yet, but I'm aching to cook tonight.I know I'm gonna make one of my badass salads tonight, and beyond that, I have no idea.
2/20/2007 6:57:35 PM
man, i just lost all ambition to cook for myself now...goddamnit
2/20/2007 6:58:48 PM
no no, like kraft mac and cheese. boil water, add pasta, drain pasta, add milk and cheese, done. way easy.
2/20/2007 7:02:07 PM
They don't sell instant mac and cheese here.
2/20/2007 7:03:26 PM
here shortly I'll be cooking a teryaki pork tenderloin...can't wait....
2/20/2007 7:05:38 PM
from scratchmake pasta (im not gonna explain this)bring a pot of milk with half an onion to a simmer...simmer 5-10 minMake a white roux...add to milk, and bring to a boilonce it thickens, reduce heat back to a simmer and add whatever cheese you want (grated)Stir until melted and combinedSeason with salt and pepperadd cooked pasta to iteatYou can get a lot more fancy, but thats a basic mac and cheese that actually tastes good and takes about 20 min to make
2/20/2007 7:08:06 PM
2/20/2007 7:09:25 PM
Yeah, but to do that I'd have to go 30 minutes south on the train, walk 45 minutes to the supermarket that sells real cheese, then repeat in reverse I might make this Friday though since I will be working near the good supermarket. It sounds better than the mac and cheese recipe I use.
2/20/2007 7:09:58 PM
