I've got two - 2, 2 drawer black filing cabinets - nice ones (They were ~$89/ea. when we bought them - so they've got good bearings and the like). We thought we were getting organized and all that...but it turns out, we're just not those folks ;^)=~

Thus, they've probably been opened and shut <50 each drawer.

So anyways, my desk for a couple of years was a bigass piece of MDF just sitting on these two (and I could comfortably sit at the right height in a normal office chair (just to give you an idea of the size - I think they're what you're looking for).

Anyhow, now the two serve as our tv stand.

Help motivate me to get out to the damn shop and build us a nice one ;-)

goodwill is a great place to find filing cabinets. we got our 2-drawer cabinet for $5, painted it dark red.
