well jackass the sign currently displayed at the door of foodlion claims that parking is prohibited in the interior spaces during store business hours. Nowhere does it claim after hours; but this neglects the fact that the parking lot is not owned by FoodLion anyway.

when I take the backway home to Charlotte as much of an annoyance as grandma is driving 50mph in the 55mph I honestly would not support this "pull over law."

You would have people pulling over every 10 min b.c some jackass wants to go 90 on a windy small ass 2 lane road. If you want to drive fast and are in a hurry wait for the opportunity when you can pass when traffic is not coming from the other direction. Anyone with a pair of balls can get around any slow driving on NC49 within a 15 min period.

the other night on the way home, i was behind some guy in a truck going 10 mph on leesville rd, no exaggeration...10 mph, but i couldn't pass him cause it was a 1 lane road & there was contruction between the lanes (trying to add more lanes to allow the passing of dumbasses like that)

If on a 4 lane road and i'm going 65 in a 55 in the passing lane than i deserve you riding my ass if you are trying to get by.

^^^^ haha. It'd be funny to have a pa speaker to play that over if you get behind someone going slow. Also there should be minimum speed limits on highways and interstates. There's no reason I should get hung behind grandma doing 35 in a 70.

One day last week I was moving to the far right lane of I40 b.c i was about to hop in west bound I540 exit 283 and I swear i had to slam on brakes b.c some fucking soccer mom in her big ass SUV was jabbing on the cell phone driving 50 in a 65.

They should also ban school busses from the interstate. They are all speed limited to 45mph. If they are so worried about lil johnny and lil susie's well being then they should understand that a bus going 45 on teh highway is 1000x more of a liability then one going 65 with the flow of most traffic

^^^ getting onto the ramp for I540 I always seem to slide in behind the dumptruck who of course navigates teh cloverleaf going like 20mph. I think the DOT has a giant conspiracy. A man on a mike is posted at Aviation parkway with a walkie-talking "johnny here, HUR just drove by get the dumptruck ready to get off the highway and hit up the I540 ramp"

^^they got me too then. I was driving down Hammond yesterday to 40 and I was in the far right lane getting ready to get one when the damn dumptruck to my left decided it was going there too. I knew it was going to happen but was still hugely disappointed when it did. I also got a rock in my grill for my troubles.

On Centennial Pkwy, where the speed limit is 40, I make a left at the end of the road and I don't feel that I have to stay in the right lane.

It's definitely different on non-interstates/highways. People have to turn sometimes. If someone is up on your ass on a road like that expecting you to get out of the way they're an asshole. In fact, if you're going atleast 5 mph over the speed limit and in the act of passing someone but someone still is riding your ass, then they're an asshole. Somehow they've shamed responsible drivers into feeling bad about this. Don't feel bad. They don't own the road anymore than you do.

She was going the speed limit exactly, there were, IIRC, 4 other cars the whole length of centennial, and the left she was making was at Avent Ferry.



It may not be law on the city streets that slower traffic keep right, because as you've pointed out, people have left turns to make, but that doesn't mean it's any less inconsiderate to putz around in the left lane just because you can. She even said "well, they don't need to speed!" and "speeding doesn't get you anywhere faster" (despite having caught 2 lights on hammond rd she'd have missed if she'd have sped just a little bit)

Its still a matter of being polite. If you're making a left hand turn in < 1/2 to 1 mile (depending on the traffic and the speed limit) then so what if you stay in the left hand lane. On the other hand, if you ride there like my dad did last week, for 6 goddamned miles, only to make a right hand turn at the end, then your ass deserves to get run off the road.

I think riding in the left lane is a condition old people develop. My dad taught me to "keep right except to pass" when he taught me to drive, but now that old fart cruises in the left lane all the time.

It is a safety thing. Passing on the right is a lot more dangerous then simply driving "over" the speed limit. I am willing to bet that the act of passing on the right b.c some asshole will not move over causes more "speeding accidents" then if the left lane driver was courteous and let the person pass.

In Europe it is illegal to pass on the right for this exact reason (in drive on the right side countries of course). btw nerd chick needs to speed the fuck up or get the fuck over. Their is no excuse to camp out going 40 in the left lane if you are going the entire length of centineal ridge from lake wheeler to avent ferry. I might give it to you if you are just going from oval dr to avent ferry.
