did you miss out on the whole i-only-actually-sleep-like-an-hour-and-30-minutes-a-night-out-of-eight-hours-of-"sleep" thing?

extremely tired during the day. all the time. like, i almost fall asleep driving.

narcolepsy meds (provigil) didn't work

so now i'm on vyvanse... it's the new and improved adderall...

...although when it comes down to it, it's still an amphetamine... which is straight up SPEED son


i mean, it definitely does its job... just a little TOO well. it's strange not being tired... don't remember the last time i felt like this...

nope, that's the strange thing... seems like it would be...

had a sleep study/MSLT done and i never stopped breathing, so no apnea during the night.

apparently i stay in stage 1 of sleep the majority of the night

and then my brain goes into rem sleep for like 5 minutes

and then quits... and waits like 30 minutes

so although i sleep through the night, i only sleep like an hour or so... which explains the tiredness and shizzle.

since they don't know what's wrong, they're just treating the symptoms now, hence the reason i'm on prescription speed.

I would think they'd give you meds to make you sleep rather than keep you awake.

Also, have you considered that your packed schedule is keeping your brain too preoccupied?

i can get to sleep just fine and stay asleep just fine (the two things sleeping meds are intended to ameliorate) so those won't do shite.

and yes, i know that's part of it... but i know people that are busier than I am that manage to function normally without the use of amphetamines, so that leads me to believe that i should be able to as well

but obviously that is not the case

Different humans have different biologies. Some of us are great thinkers, some are great doers, and the rest of us are somewhere in between. Part of growing up is finding out what your limits are, and living within them in a way that maximizes your ability to help others.

see, the thing is, though, that this is pretty recent. up until 6 months ago or so, everything was fine.

i know it's something neurological. it's just a question of what.

it's funny - i can bring people back from the dead and (at least temporarily) fix basically anything that's wrong with anyone... but i can't do shit when it comes to the CNS. :\

show me a big ol stemi and i'll take care of it

but sleepyness? ...
