Your friend is full of lies I consistently can't finish meals in restaurants here because the portions are big. I've started to go mainly to places I know offer half size orders on their menu because I got tired of having so much food leftover.

Next time I go to Kyoto I'll take a picture of the restaurant with the $100 ice cream sundae. The thing has to have at least 2 gallons of ice cream in it
