I think the first frame from Vanity is amazing, great pose, great exposure, spot on 10/10, here's your $30,000 thanks.

The second frame, however, it just terrible. A magazine of Vanity's exposure shouldn't be shelling out for crap like that. Maybe some selective highlighting or something, but as is that's just terrible.

^^the colors and contrast are so manipulated in that photo that they may have seen the proof/preview as-shot and liked it, but the right tweaking turned it into that.

and seriously, Leibovitz really twists everyone's view of whoever she's photographing. it's talent, but not what I want in photos of me, or anyone I know.

I don't think she was disapproving of the colors in the photo! I'm pretty sure Miley was upset about the tastefulness of the shot, when she was the one sitting there with only a sheet. She could have objected before the shutters started going off ya know?
