While the lakes are full (or perhaps overfull), what would officially take us out of this dry spell is if the groundwater fully recharged, which it probably has not yet had time to do. I don't think we have anything to worry about at this point, but it's still not "normal".

The TVA administers several of the lakes in my area. They withheld far greater than normal levels of water in the reservoirs this spring, well above flood danger levels. Meaning that if we'd had historic levels of rain, we'd have been in far greater than normal risk of flood. But it's the first time in 2 years that the mountain reservoirs have been close to full. http://www.tva.com/river/lakeinfo/op_guides/chatuge.htmHere's Chatuge as an example. The red line is the current level, the black line is last year's level, the blue line is the flood guideline at which the reservoir is supposed to be below, the shaded area is the 80th percentile level at which you would expect to see the reservoir at any given time, and the green is the minimum target level.]]

I'm going to start pissing exclusively outside to help with the drought. Also to piss more I'm going to up my beer consumption.

Drought Watch! The mood is tense; I have been on some serious, serious reports but nothing quite like this.
