Second, I don't think that "toughness" is something that needs to be gender-separated. I'm not at all trying to be "like a man" because I couldn't stand having that thing between my legs.
And third, I don't do karate any more, I do muay thai and judo. When both your parents are martial artists, you kind of don't have a choice, when you're younger, but to practice, and now that I'm older, I've made my own decisions about which arts to continue.
