I basically did the same thing....except I punched a wall. The knuckle/bone leading up to my pinky broke in half. I had a fake cast for 3-4 days then got a 1/2 cast for about 3 weeks. The hand was useless for about 2 weeks after I got the cast off. Then I could do normal things like eating, doors, typing without an issue after 7-8 weeks. It took about 10 until I could lift heavy in the gym or fist people

wow that one pic is horrifying - the worst part of this, is what the temp splint is doing to the rest of my hand, cause it was poorly/hastily made...it's def a boxer's fracture, and apparently is only a 10 degree fracture...hopefully that will mean a full recovery after physical therapy, though it looks like the knuckle got shoved inwards towards my thumb by 1/2" and has me worried. also, vicoden isn't really thast great - 800mg of ibuprofen works better than 10mg of vicoden w/o the drowsiness. thanks for the good wishes everyone, keep it white while i'm gone.

boxer's fracture is a med term for the location, not how it happened. i punched something repeatedly to achieve this injury.
