Rockafeller Skank - Hitting the road and weaving within the Rockies. I smoked Jewel Sweet cigars, drank Jack Daniels, and wore Indian style dresses (the kind you get at the fleamarket).

My second favorite was Only Happy When it Rains I was so far gone into masochism that one time it was windy and borderline rain/freezing on campus, and I had to make a 15-20 minute treck on foot, so I naturally did it with my overcoat, shoes, and socks all jammed in my backpack.

Another random one is Last Thing I Needed/First Thing this Morning - Tony sitting on his tractor, drunk and howling about his divorce. He'd play this over and over for days. It would be proceeded by about three months of a stretched-out breakdown. Then he went to Iraq, came back, and REALLY lost it.

Everytime I hear "To the window, to the wall", I snicker and think about Senior Week. I got trashed and my bf drove me around while I sang/screamed it all over the place. Oh to be that carefree again.

I didn't listen to a lot of popular music back then, this is stuff my roommate played a lot. This was Fall 1998.

I miss those days too, mostly because of the booming economy, my dad hadn't lost his job yet (but he's a hell of a lot better off nowadays than he was back then), low gas prices (like $1.15 a gallon!), my old Volvo, and having a superpimp in the White House.
