I thoroughly enjoyed the look on their faces when I told them I am a Catholic. Recently converted too.

You're going to hell. Just kidding.

waityou converted TO catholicism?are you getting married?
6/18/2008 2:55:55 PM
i remember one time some people, dunno what denomination it was, came-a-knocking and my front door was open, and i did not answer it and i was sitting right there playing halo, lol. i felt bad, but it the fact that i don't knock them it just i feel like my privacy is invaded when you ask me about my beliefs if i am not readily willing to share them.
6/18/2008 2:57:25 PM
ha ha - I figured this trick out long agonothing gets Baptists to leave you alone like telling them you're Catholic. they know they're new at this game. ]
6/18/2008 2:57:36 PM
Should have offered them a belt of scotch
yeah....one of my favorite....ummmm...."friends" converted to catholicism....i never understood why you would do that to yourself either...
6/18/2008 2:58:02 PM
^x5 nope. and i really love being a catholic. [Edited on June 18, 2008 at 2:58 PM. Reason : ^]

but the pews are so uncomfortable
6/18/2008 2:59:16 PM
I wish some baptists would come knock on my door. I'd grab a flogger, and ask them if this can wait, because I have a girl tied up in my bed, and it's really not safe to leave someone tied up and alone.
6/18/2008 2:59:18 PM
i was born a catholic

*shrug* Not for everybody, but I can see the benefits in it. Some people really like the ritualism, and I can't deny that the sacraments are neat, and that whole penance thing sets Catholics apart. At the very least, they have the prettiest churches. But, having been raised Catholic was what sent me screaming into the arms of the Pagans, so I will admit my experience with Catholicism was a little...lacking.
6/18/2008 3:01:29 PM
why do yall like being catholic? is the fact that you can just say i'm a catholic or what?
6/18/2008 3:01:49 PM
the coolest thing about being a catholic is that you dont even really need to believe in god to say you are a catholic
6/18/2008 3:02:45 PM
I've never gotten baptists at the door.[Edited on June 18, 2008 at 3:03 PM. Reason : ]
6/18/2008 3:02:52 PM
that's like asking somebody why they like being baptist or lutheran. it's my faith- not much more to it than that (there really shouldn't be much more than that imo)
6/18/2008 3:02:56 PM
6/18/2008 3:03:38 PM
6/18/2008 3:03:56 PM
^^^thats my point. if you believe in god then you are all christians, so denomination is just to exclude yourself. i am not hating just saying denominations really have never made any sense to me.[Edited on June 18, 2008 at 3:04 PM. Reason : asdf]
6/18/2008 3:04:27 PM
haha when did being Catholic become the new Mormon?jesus christ [no blasphemy]
6/18/2008 3:04:52 PM
lol scientology is the new mormon now imo
6/18/2008 3:05:24 PM
different denominations do have differing beliefs. yea- we all think Christ is the Lord. But there's more to it than that. Also, a lot of the practices are different. (ie: Holy Communion)
6/18/2008 3:05:58 PM
mormons are still mormons[Edited on June 18, 2008 at 3:06 PM. Reason : hahaha i had communion in a catholic church once ahahahahah]
6/18/2008 3:06:19 PM
^^yeah i understand, but thats like saying saying i am going to take hwy 13 all the way to ny, while this group takes a rural route, and another takes 95 all the way there - the same thing just want to be different in your ways, but to each his own. but i still don't see why there is a need.[Edited on June 18, 2008 at 3:08 PM. i'm the kind of catholic that feels it is morally acceptable to clone aea
6/18/2008 3:22:08 PM
but the ultimate goal is to go the heaven right?
6/18/2008 3:23:04 PM
see its that kinda lameness that makes me not want to be catholic..."go to heaven"...yeah what exactly is heaven bo
6/18/2008 3:29:33 PM
i dunno, but i thought that christains no matter what denomination are trying to get there, otherwise whats the point of the religion?
6/18/2008 3:30:53 PM
fit in with the crowd?....i'm not all that religious but i celebrate christmas by giving presents...i'm not religious but i eat easter dinner with my parents all 23 years i been alive...etc[Edited on June 18, 2008 at 3:35 PM. Reason : .]
6/18/2008 3:35:39 PM
i don't celebrate, i participate. but i wouldn't call myself anything to fit in with my family, either they accept or the don't.[Edited on June 18, 2008 at 3:39 PM. Reason : asdr]
6/18/2008 3:38:55 PM
i dont mean fitting in with family...more like fitting in with society.....like i said religion gives us an excuse to get together for dinners etc...more of a tradition than anything else
6/18/2008 3:40:15 PM
6/18/2008 3:40:45 PM
^^hahaha, i get together with people because i genuinely want to get together with them not because i need to be a part of something. but to each his own, and i'm proud i am strong to sever any ties with anyone if need be.[Edited on June 18, 2008 at 3:41 PM. Reason : asdf]
