^ my co-worker calls that seafood sauce "yum-yum" sauce... we went to crazy fire a couple weeks ago and they had a sign that said "we now have yum-yum sauce!" is that a common name? because i just thought he was weird.
6/22/2008 11:58:56 AM
ive always heart it called shrimp sauce
6/22/2008 12:00:11 PM
yeah, i just called it seafood sauce.he's weird.
6/22/2008 12:04:23 PM
hahhahaha that's the only thing I've heard it called too but I'm convinced there must be a more proper name than Yum Yum Sauce. Or not. Either way it's sooooo good.had to look up what was in it!Japanese Steakhouse White Sauce - Easy Recipe1-1/4 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise * 1/4 cup water 1 teaspoon tomato paste 1 tablespoon melted butter 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon sugar 1/4 teaspoon paprika dash cayenne pepper Using a fork or a whisk, blend all ingredients together thoroughly until well mixed and the sauce is smooth. Refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to blend. Bring to room temperature before serving. The sauce will NOT taste right if you don't let it sit overnight. And please don't try to substitute ketchup for the tomato paste! The water is needed to bring this to the right consistency. [Edited on June 22, 2008 at 12:11 PM. Reason : mmmmmmm]
6/22/2008 12:05:09 PM
nice, might have to make that now. i love that stuff. that guy told me he thought it was just ketchup and mayonnaise. if it were, i'd be pissed i was just putting ketchup on my hibachi!
