1) Building must be run down2) Furniture must be ole3) Must be named after owner or founding family (not chain owner, owner of that one restaurant)
6/28/2008 3:11:00 PM
agreedole time passes on the name rule, but their veggies are crapbbq/hushpuppies/tea are ace though

must not be in NYCI work for a place that does a reasonable facsimile but the pit master is a New York asshole that never wants to talk shop with mehe says that making eastern carolina sauce is "fucking easy... its just vinegar and crushed red pepper and shit"fuck that guy
6/28/2008 4:00:14 PM
^the sauce is relatively easythe tough part is cooking the meat so that everything tastes right
6/28/2008 4:05:19 PM
u gotta start cooking at like 1 am to get good bbq ready by lunch
6/28/2008 4:22:11 PM
there has to be at least FIVE 'signature' sauces for my standards.
6/28/2008 4:24:15 PM
they use electric smokers and wood pellets
6/28/2008 4:25:12 PM
Any place that has more than one kind of bbq sauce has no faith in their sauce.Allowances can be made for one each of pork/chicken/hot sauces.
6/28/2008 4:27:37 PM
this joint has "Carolina BBQ" and "Original BBQ"which is a bullshit naming convention cause carolina bbq sauce IS the original
6/28/2008 4:30:18 PM
you forgot good hushpuppies
6/28/2008 4:31:38 PM
must be pit cooked over hardwood coals
6/28/2008 4:32:01 PM

6/28/2008 4:34:22 PM

6/28/2008 4:35:07 PM
^^ the sauce is the best looking part of it, but someone fucked up and but some grass on bbq, get that shit off^ lucky guy[Edited on June 28, 2008 at 4:35 PM. Reason : d]
6/28/2008 4:35:11 PM
I found a really good homemade barbecue recipe once. I need to dig it up. basically you smoke the shit out of it then throw it in a crock-pot for like half a day. and yeah, the sauce is really easy
6/28/2008 4:35:28 PM
i had a bbq sandwich from stonewall's this morning.it was rather tasty
6/28/2008 4:36:36 PM
must have an old black guy cooking

6/28/2008 4:39:13 PM

6/28/2008 4:43:23 PM
the bbq snobs of TWW must approve
6/28/2008 4:45:01 PM
If the tea isn't so sweet that your teeth rot immediately...the BBQ probably won't be any goodThey must also serve brunswick stew
6/28/2008 4:47:18 PM
i like Smithfield's BBQ plate...I also love Smokey Bonez(place here in Greensboro)
6/28/2008 4:49:09 PM
they have a stiky fingers in Charleston but i walked right past it to some place with no paint on the building and just a pig with a neon light around it for a sign
6/28/2008 4:51:43 PM
i ate at a sticky fingers down in wilmington. pretty good for a chain serving that red kind of bbq.
6/28/2008 4:53:52 PM

6/28/2008 4:57:50 PM

6/28/2008 4:58:17 PM
well then, no brunswick, no good
6/28/2008 4:59:27 PM
folks don't know it, but the majority of bbq places get their brunswick stew from a can/stir the pot
6/28/2008 5:00:10 PM
not truenot for good bbq[Edited on June 28, 2008 at 5:00 PM. Reason : as]

6/28/2008 5:17:51 PM
only 2 places i've had in raleigh is coopers and cookout...cookout wins easy
6/28/2008 5:18:45 PM
hell, my favorite bbq place doesn't even serve brunswick stew. if the bbq is really good you shouldn't need anything other than slaw, tater salad, and cornbread.[Edited on June 28, 2008 at 5:19 PM. Reason : i'd imagine cookout's bbq is warmed up stuff from a tub]
6/28/2008 5:19:03 PM
its really good....hits the spot everytime
6/28/2008 5:20:24 PM
you jagoffs don't want bbqyou want a brunswick stew placejust wait until the Methodist church whips up a huge batch in the fall and buy a quart
6/28/2008 5:23:28 PM
lol @ jagoffs
6/28/2008 5:25:59 PM
Even though it's a chain, Smithfield's is the SHITTTTTTTT!! Can't beat their BBQ, slaw, veggies, etc. Their sweet tea is bangin' too! Emmmmm! Got me cravin' some now!!!And actually there's a place in my hometown of Lillington (right off the Cape Fear River) called Howard's BBQ (-n- Seafood), and it's INCREDIBLE!!!!! The food is amazing. Even their hamburger steak (which is grilled on a grill and not fried in a pan) with grilled onions is soooo delicious!! [Edited on June 28, 2008 at 5:49 PM. Reason : .]
6/28/2008 5:29:21 PM
