40 gig[Edited on June 28, 2008 at 7:32 PM. Reason : and if you dont have the money for it don't buy it]
6/28/2008 7:32:21 PM
wait until you can afford it

get the 80 gig and pay it off in 6 months
6/28/2008 7:45:28 PM
lol at financing a game console... If you can't afford $400 then how the hell do you pay for gas?
6/28/2008 7:46:37 PM
i always use the 0% interest whenever possible eventhough i dont need to. right after i buy, i set up auto payments monthly where i would have whatever it is paid off 1 month before the 0% deal comes off. i think its smart to do[Edited on June 28, 2008 at 7:49 PM. Reason : but yea im talking about larger purchases. ]
6/28/2008 7:48:32 PM
^true, and helps your credit score too. I always use my credit card, but pay it off in one month.
6/28/2008 7:49:38 PM
^^ yeah, i put a jet ski on my credit card one time, but not because i needed to--it was just a matter of convenience. i paid it off immediately.this sounds to me like he needs the financing, and that means he shouldn't be buying a gaming console.
6/28/2008 11:25:23 PM
I heard the 40 gigs aren't backwards compatiable.
6/28/2008 11:29:30 PM
i think the 60 gig is the only true 100% backwards compatible one, but the only gaming console i've ever had was the original NES. this is just what we found when my roommate bought a PS3.
6/28/2008 11:31:05 PM
I would only buy it straight cashbut thats meI dont like owing anythingthats the reason I still drive a mazda

6/28/2008 11:31:24 PM
yea i didnt do it because id rather just wait until i can afford it.
6/29/2008 10:12:13 AM
i don't get what the problem is. you have 5k credit available and make 2k a month, and you have 6 months to pay off ~$400. Are you spending 2k a month on everything else?
6/29/2008 10:16:20 AM
Yeah it's not a good idea to make payments on a ps3. I mean if you don't have the money to pay for it straight up then you probably don't need to be playing it anyway. I would wait until you can afford it.

this is worse than financing spinner rims
6/29/2008 11:01:00 AM
i mean i have enough saved to buy it straight up right now. what if my engine blows tomorrow though, ill need every cent i have. i dont have enough saved up to be able to just spend it all outright, thats why i was considering financing
6/29/2008 11:41:02 AM
i doubt that i'll ever finance anything other than my house
6/29/2008 11:42:39 AM
I saw this thing on Judge Judy where this lady financed a ps2 a couple years ago from RentACenter for something like $150 a month for 24 months.

ohhh....wow... yeah... rule of thumbNEVER FINANCE TOYS.IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD SOMETHING YOU DON'T NEED DON'T BUY IT.

There goes the motorcycle.
6/29/2008 12:16:08 PM
get a best buy card. purchase it a with the card. pay it off in the 6 months because its 0 intrest first 6 months. sounds like you cant afford it to be honest. or get your bills right and take a certan amount from each of your pay check and put it aside. if you cant save that little bit of money from each pay check. then you cant afford the system. 2k a month isnt really all that bad. thats plenty to live off of and have spending money if you spend your money wisely
6/29/2008 12:20:52 PM
hahah i have 4k in the bank set aside for mine
6/29/2008 12:20:54 PM

^epic plugI say, if you can pay it off in time so you don't pay interest, then do it. I charge little shit all the time and come home to pay it off. Use it to build credit. All you have to do is show that you charged something and paid it off to build credit. Just make sure you always pay it off before incurring interest charges, as that does nothing but hurt your wallet. I've heard some people say that you have to leave something on your card and pay interest to build credit, which is complete BS, so I just wanted to make that clear.

Get a better job
6/29/2008 5:28:40 PM
^^ i still wouldn't do it if i had to cut it that close.if you can comfortably pay cash for it now, then sure, stretch it out over 6 months if you want. otherwise, wait until you can really afford it.
6/29/2008 7:14:46 PM
i love how best buy has the 24 month financing with no interest on pretty much anything you want if you ask for itKeeping your money invested while getting new toys is pretty much a sweet deal.
7/7/2008 9:09:08 PM
a high limit credit card at best buy = teh d3bil
7/7/2008 9:10:18 PM
i consider my best buy credit card bill a monthly entertainment fee. i pay them a flat rate per month to keep me entertained with new gadgetsprogram the payments with your bank so you don't forget and it's worry-free
