6/30/2008 5:54:29 PM
they're good flip flops. what's the bandwagon? having rainbows, or hating on them?
6/30/2008 5:55:18 PM
congratulations. you are now a faggot
6/30/2008 5:56:00 PM
Walmart sandals last about 4 months. Rainbows last about 2-3 years.Buy Rainbows.

I've just recently had to purchase my second pair after the first pair wore out from 5 years of use. I wear them most all day on Saturday and Sunday during the summer, quite a bit during the week, I've shot the rock in them from time to time, etc. It isn't like they are $150 sandals that everyone gets to be trendy. They're good sandals.
6/30/2008 6:19:18 PM
Still prefer Reefs (more styles and more comfortable in my opinion). I have about 5 or 6 pairs of Reefs right now. Although I just got a pair of Oneils on sale and am enjoying them quite nicely.
6/30/2008 6:20:51 PM
i got a pair of like 8 year old american eagle sandals i got for free with some purchasei've been fishing and all other kinds of crazy shit and they are still going strong...walked 10 miles in a day with them 2 weeks ago
6/30/2008 6:22:42 PM
i have American eagle sandals and they are really shitty.
6/30/2008 6:24:24 PM
my rainbows are.. 6 years old? probably about time for some more.but i had a suitemate once who flaunt his cheaper ones that 'looked just like them.' i think he had them break twice in a year.
6/30/2008 6:24:49 PM
. . .. are those bees??
6/30/2008 6:24:58 PM
any color is ok so long as they're black
6/30/2008 6:25:21 PM
I too have avoided rainbows my entire college careerReef sandals FTW
6/30/2008 6:26:12 PM
^^^one sec i'll bump a thread...u must have missed it
6/30/2008 6:26:46 PM
Ye. Ive had a basic pair of reef sandals (black bottoms, black thread(?) thong style) for about 3-4 years and theyre holding up. I wear them probably 4 days a week. I have a backup pair that I bought last year but havent really needed to use them.
6/30/2008 6:28:24 PM
american eagle sandals ftw
6/30/2008 6:30:06 PM
i've had my rainbows for over 3 years and i probably wear them for at least a little bit almost every day
6/30/2008 6:33:32 PM
i avoided these too, just caus in NC it didn't seem practical. i labeled the guys that wore them fags, but anyways i just bought a pair a few weeks ago. i wear them everyday.
reefs ftw!
6/30/2008 6:34:56 PM
i wear mine almost every day.
6/30/2008 8:11:26 PM
never been in or supported fraternities.been wearing rainbows for about 7 years.go back to middle school with your blanket fashion stereotypes.
6/30/2008 8:12:25 PM
god i hate sandalsi hate havin that little thing between my toes
6/30/2008 8:12:38 PM
more like... RainBLOWS
6/30/2008 8:13:07 PM
^^^ what he saidThese blanket fashion assumptions are stupid. I grew up wearing rainbows, sperry's, and croakies. Long before I knew what a frat was.
6/30/2008 8:14:06 PM
i remember getting picked on for wearing sperrys in 5th grade
6/30/2008 8:15:20 PM
6/30/2008 8:17:07 PM
6/30/2008 8:17:34 PM
Rainbows are the shit. I bought a pair two months ago and there has only been one day since then that I haven't worn them.
6/30/2008 8:18:10 PM
I messed up and bought the skinny strap ones and they are slick on the top. They suck, but I would buy a new pair if I ever felt like it.
6/30/2008 8:19:18 PM
6/30/2008 8:20:42 PM
Every single person has bought and worn something because of a fad. It has nothing to do with frats, a fad is a fad. And everyone at some point has HAD to have something because of a fad.
6/30/2008 8:23:16 PM
never bought mine because of a fad...
6/30/2008 8:24:09 PM
rainbow sandals are gateway shoes into my faggot fivefinger sandals. you have been warned.
6/30/2008 8:25:02 PM
i bought my sperrys b/c my dad wouldn't let me wear black soled tennis shoes on the boat[Edited on June 30, 2008 at 8:25 PM. Reason : ^i couldn't handle all that shit between my toes]
6/30/2008 8:25:22 PM
^
6/30/2008 8:25:34 PM
I'm not necessarily implying that people did this with Rainbows and Sperrys... I'm saying in general. There is SOMETHING that EVERYONE bought because of a fad, and there's nothing wrong with that.
6/30/2008 8:28:41 PM
I'll totally admit it. I bought my rainbows mainly because they looked cool and almost everyone I saw wearing them was cool as well.[Edited on June 30, 2008 at 8:28 PM. Reason : can't spell]
6/30/2008 8:28:47 PM
That's how it works. You see everyone else with them, you decide to try them out, you like them, you buy them, you wear them. Nothing wrong with it. Just don't blame it on certain groups like its a bad thing! (not directed and you^)[Edited on June 30, 2008 at 8:30 PM. Reason : ]
6/30/2008 8:30:04 PM
i don't get the appeal of sandals but that may have to do with me having monkey toes
6/30/2008 8:30:48 PM
I bought my first pair about 4 1/2 yrs ago and loved them. They're still going strong but they don't have a lot of padding so 2 yrs ago I got another pair with thicker soles that are perfect for all the walking that comes with living in NYC.I've noticed they're becoming a lot more popular here in the northeast. Last summer Rainbow opened a store in Nolita so that probably helped a lot. But I'm starting to see them a lot more often.
6/30/2008 8:30:56 PM
i'm never getting rainbows for the same reason i got rid of facebook, want to get rid of my cell, dont watch television, dont listen to the radio, wont buy apple products, etc
6/30/2008 8:31:14 PM
you hate contributing to the economy?
6/30/2008 8:31:48 PM
mine curled up into half circles after running around in the mud during the beer festival a few years ago.. that set had lasted 4 years at that point. got a new set then and have had them ever sincedamn things last forever
6/30/2008 8:31:59 PM
^^lol sorta[Edited on June 30, 2008 at 8:32 PM. Reason : .]
6/30/2008 8:32:08 PM
I grew up in Wilmington where that's all anyone ever wore. It wasn't a peer pressure thing so much as they were really good, comfortable sandals. I had a pair I wore for almost four years before I had to get new ones. I'm on my third pair ever and I started buying them when I was fourteen or fifteen.Fad or not, they're still quality, sensible sandals.
6/30/2008 8:34:00 PM
i came to the conclusion some time ago that dnl is a communistno lie, ask him about the deep PM conversation we had on it
6/30/2008 8:47:00 PM
they recently discontinued my favorite type of Rainbows. luckily i found a pair in a bin at that store next to man-mur.these:
