pulled short, its sweeter and less intense

The thing is, you got parts of your description right. A longer pull could be termed "bolder" because of more caffeine, but I wouldn't call it darker.

And I suppose a shorter pull would be less intense, but it isn't necessarily going to make it sweeter.

I used to get the caramel frappucinno all the time, and then I wised up, both to starbucks, and calorie content.

Every year at christmas, though, the same person gets me a $15 GC to starbucks...I've moved to a vanilla iced coffee with some half and half. It's pretty decent, but still no vanilla latte from GV.

You might be right. You can taste how much they load up on the syrup, which is more calorie dense than their mocha stuff. The iced usually tastes even sweeter than the hot drink. I'm a big fan of It's a Grinds iced whites. They are a lot easier on the sweet (not sure if they are using syrup or powder, haven't paid good enough attention) and the result is a the right mix of coffee/white mocha flavor that a middle of the roader like myself enjoys.



I really don't get the starbucks hate. If I want a god damn coffee or latte, you think I give a fuck if I look trendy or not?

When I was at State I did Global Vollage but Mike is no where else (hot soy chai latte ftw!!!).

At harbucks my usual in the summer is either a venti (iced) coffee with tons of cream and their classic syrup or a shaken venti passion tea lemonade. If qtnmfred is with me we share a grande iced caramel macchiato with caramel in the cup! Winter time I get a (hot) tall caramel macchiato, pumpkin spiced latte or an eggnog latte (all with one or two less pumps of syrup).
