I payed like $300 for a year at Gold's, plus if I refer 3 more people I get next year free.Wherever you sign up, do it at the end of the month. Those guys have a quota, so they get desperate toward the end of the month.

I'm pretty sure you can still join the NC State gym, you just have to pay all the fees up front for the year. Other than that you can go to Planet Fitness. I don't like the place personally but it's as cheap as you can get

thanks- I probably should have added that I live in Durham now by Southpoint mall, so I need something in that area.

Yeah Planet Fitness is as cheap as it gets, but overselling memberships at $10 / month often leads to an overcrowded gym, especially Monday-Wednesday. The one behind Carmax off Glenwood is like 3 times the size of the one off Jones Franklin, and the equipment is pretty much brand new.

thanks! I ended up joining Golds Gym near the Sheraton at RTP. It was about the same price as Peak Fitness but had a much nicer facility. Honestly NC State has the nicest facilities of any gym I've looked at around here. If you're still enrolled at State take advantage of the gym now, while you still can.
