I have family in Schenectady (right next to Albany). It's not very interesting. Syracuse is quaint. I think Cooperstown is on the way there if you like baseball. Never been to Rochester, but I my uncle lives there. It's right on Lake Erie so there might be something.

In Syracuse, theres cool bars and restaurants in Armory Square, and around SU campus. Otherwise, there aint shit.

there is not much up there. you got the lakes, and watkins glen (highly recommended). outside of that I dont really know lol

Look into Lake George. Bout an hour north of Albany. They have boats that you can pay to go out on the lake and get shitfaced on. My dad and aunts and uncles seem to like it.[Edited on July 20, 2008 at 2:53 PM. Reason : ]
