I've recently graduated and used to look forward to coming back to campus in the fall and seeing all the stuff they've done over the summer.Any many changes happening there now?
7/20/2008 9:02:00 PM
i think they're trying to turn the south end of the free expression tunnel into a copy of what they did to the north end of it.i read that somewhere but i'm not sure if it's this year, anyway it should look good when they're done.
7/20/2008 9:03:57 PM
they've made a lot of headway on EBIII
7/20/2008 9:05:09 PM
They destroyed the outdoor seating outside the Atrium and are completely rebuilding that, I think they're losing the stairs and making it sloped instead.
7/20/2008 9:05:34 PM
^good, i think there were like 3 solid tables, everything else was shakey
7/20/2008 9:06:55 PM
They are also replacing the Chick-fil-A with a Bojangles
7/20/2008 9:07:12 PM
isn't the bookstore end the south end?they are currently redoing the atriumprobably the biggest change is where riddick stadium used to bethere's a giant building there now for math & statistics and they've sort of re-angled the roadcentennial campus continues to growi think they've even started working on that golf course over there... for what that's worth

7/20/2008 9:17:31 PM
that was the best consecutive 3 posts i've ever seen on tww.
7/20/2008 10:09:21 PM
I think they should leave the chic-fil-a but add a bojos.A bojangles on campus would be amazing. I would also be even fatter.
7/20/2008 10:11:59 PM
7/20/2008 10:12:46 PM
there is a coffee shop in nelson now
7/20/2008 10:13:54 PM
I haven't been on campus since spring semester last year. I'm excited.
7/20/2008 10:14:55 PM
they are redoing the patio by the Atrium. and they are still working on that Math building by Poe

oh, LOLstill don't get it
7/20/2008 10:22:56 PM
from what i've seen:-atrium renovation -they have the courtyard where those echo things are blocked off for some reason, maybe just to put the new lights in-courtyard south of the free expression tunnel-courtyards surrounding the new gym building-derr track done-thompson theater work continues-central campus got renovated-various new trees and such-bragaw being renovated-court of NC outside the 1911 building redone (as well as 1911 itself)-math and stats building/park shops-centennial work continues-renovation of polk and williams almost donethey seem to be doing a shitton of work to make the campus prettier. yay for that.
7/20/2008 10:28:03 PM
i heard 1911 is really looking good....i haven't had a chance to go over there during the day recently
7/20/2008 10:30:01 PM
They did a nice job with the 1911 renovation. Check out the 1st floor main hall, especially if they have all the lights turned on with the hanging fixtures. Looks great.
7/20/2008 10:32:03 PM
yeah, it is completely badass. too bad not all buildings at State are that nice...but, for the record, i've been here three years now, and you really can't even recognize the campus from 05 when i arrived. its all been changed for the better.
7/20/2008 10:33:26 PM
New gym building?
7/20/2008 10:36:02 PM
you should have been here when I got here in 2000...
7/20/2008 10:36:34 PM
^^ yes, where the basketball courts that looked like Iraq used to be (the outside ones)^ i can't imagine how shitty it was...
7/20/2008 10:38:12 PM
the construction they are doing around the library is absolutely fucking retarded....you have to walk like 5 minutes extra just to get in the fucking place now...definitely not fun when its raining like it was on friday[Edited on July 20, 2008 at 10:55 PM. Reason : .]
7/20/2008 10:55:12 PM
What exactly does the new building hold?? Did they construct any new outdoor courts?? I loved those outdoor courts for some reason.
7/20/2008 10:58:06 PM
^they're gonna tear down harrelson, so math and stats had to have somewhere to go[Edited on July 20, 2008 at 11:00 PM. Reason : oh shit, you're talking about the gym...idk]
7/20/2008 10:59:47 PM
I rolled through the ncsu campus last weekend...first time in five yearsahh memories
7/20/2008 11:00:03 PM
I walked through the 1911 building the other daycouldn't even believe it was the same building
7/21/2008 1:04:34 AM
^^^^there are like four nice-ass new courts behind the health center. electric coded entry and errything. teh rimzz are the suck though.
7/21/2008 1:10:25 AM
I think they're putting a fountain like the one near the Murphy center on the bookstore side of the free expression tunnel- that was the senior gift this year.
7/21/2008 1:15:54 AM
7/21/2008 1:16:22 AM
^^holy badassery.
7/21/2008 1:55:46 AM
maybe we'll be removed from the list of ugliest college campuses.
7/21/2008 1:56:12 AM
7/21/2008 1:58:49 AM
Are they finally going to make good on the "we're going to tear down Harrelson" talk? I know they've been saying that for years. Personally, I'll be sad to see it go, if/when.
7/21/2008 2:04:48 AM
^ I'll probably be sad too. But only because no other poor souls will ever get to experience the hell hole of a building that it was It'll prob become a great story like, "I had to walk to school in the snow, uphill both ways...."
7/21/2008 6:14:50 AM
someone post a link to that NCSU Master Plan againpretty crazy stuff
7/21/2008 7:24:21 AM
7/21/2008 7:26:44 AM
this sounds great. I'm trying to make it up to Raleigh this weekend and will definitely take a walk through campus one afternoon.
7/21/2008 8:28:42 AM
we're scoping out putting new lights in the pool at carmichael. The over head bulbs are just too hard to change. Planning on wall lights that shine onto mirrors. As far as anything apparent walking through campus, everything has pretty much been named. When I spoke to the zone shop guys over at riddick, they said they planned to have the math and stat building open in early august for the fall. And the sprinklers at miller fields and Centennial campus now use reclaim water from air handlers atop buildings surrounding them.[Edited on July 21, 2008 at 8:40 AM.
