But there's not one near here, so I just wanted to see if anyone else knew of any...yes this is a garage topic, but no one's home right nowautozone's special: $12.99 - 5 quarts of quaker state conventional & stp filterthese any good? I've never used either brand.[Edited on August 3, 2008 at 9:14 AM. Reason : ,]

I buy WIX filters online from rock auto. They are the shiznit. For cheap oil either Rotella T syn (what I use in my bikes, no they are NOT diesel but it works great anyways) or the mobil 1 syn at wally world. About $16 to $20 a gallonIt's worth the extra $10 or $15 to get the good stuff, especially if you don't change the oil very frequently.

don't care about getting "cheap stuff"I just prefer a deal on better stuffchanging my oil today so online ordering isn't an optionconventional oil, no synthetic
8/3/2008 9:49:59 AM
HahahahahaOMGQuaker state is NOT "better stuff"Just go buy a case of valvoline at Sam's club if you are set on conventional.[Edited on August 3, 2008 at 9:56 AM. Reason : ...]

hence, I asked about quaker state oil
8/3/2008 9:55:48 AM
i know people hate on quaker state due to sludge but that was 20 years ago. any oil that is SM API certified will be fine for normal use including QS.

For my very first oil change I used quaker state, before I knew better. Seriously, rotella T (conventional) is cheaper and does not burn off as bad, if your vehicle can take 15-40.

AutoZone has a special that's $14.99 for 5 quarts of Castrol GTX and an STP oil filter.Or check this out, and see if you'd rather pay more for a different kind. Castrol oil is fine. I just got the 13.99 special on 5 quarts of oil and a fram oil filter 2 weeks ago, I think it was Castrol too.http://www.autozone.com/images/in_our_stores/promotions/circular_0724_08.pdf[Edited on August 3, 2008 at 12:14 PM.
