8/3/2008 1:07:28 PM
at the beach i had some friends parent that did that and they were drying a load of just towels. they went to store came back and fire department broke into house and put the fire out. it clogged the lint collecter and set it ablaze
8/3/2008 1:07:35 PM
yes....and i passed a lot of fire trucks right after i left the house...oh crap!
8/3/2008 1:07:37 PM
If you clean out the lint thing, you're fine.
yeah but you cant gauranty how much lint is going to be in one load. i clean it every load[Edited on August 3, 2008 at 1:10 PM. Reason : plus i like to lick my hand and clean it off anyway]
8/3/2008 1:09:59 PM
My psycho roommate from 2 years backOnce I came home drunk at like 4 am with beer all over my reeboksI threw them in the dryer and they made that typical loud ass banging sound shoes make when you put em in the dryerI'm in the laundary room chilling, texting on my phone and drinking chocolate milkWhen my psycho rotc roommate comes in with his rifle and is all like "I THINK WE HAVE INTRUDERS !"
8/3/2008 1:10:21 PM
oh i ci do this all the time, and other people are like omg i cant believe you do that
8/3/2008 1:10:43 PM
you will find out the hard way one time.do you leave the house when the oven is on?
8/3/2008 1:13:22 PM
8/3/2008 1:15:05 PM
yes i know this but its obvious that people just go off and leave it running dont clean it every load
8/3/2008 1:16:27 PM
i have also heard houses catching on fire due to this. or broken dryers never cutting off and running the electric bill up
8/3/2008 1:19:35 PM
never
8/3/2008 1:40:20 PM
8/3/2008 1:41:23 PM
8/3/2008 1:41:47 PM
yep
8/3/2008 1:45:01 PM
I do. I never thought twice about it until Biofreak70 mentioned something about it once.
8/3/2008 1:45:39 PM
lol i fail
8/3/2008 1:46:26 PM
If you clean out the lint thing then you have nothing to worry about.
8/3/2008 1:49:59 PM
8/3/2008 1:50:44 PM
so you do leave the oven on when your gone from the house
8/3/2008 1:53:13 PM
no, but I'd make sure my future wife doesn't do this
8/3/2008 1:54:00 PM
I do. I never thought twice about it until David0603 mentioned something about it once.

8/3/2008 2:17:28 PM
8/3/2008 2:22:36 PM
spost to lol
8/3/2008 2:28:16 PM
as long as you regularly clean the lint trap, the chances of it causing a fire are much lessi usually don't leave, but i have been known to do it from time to time
8/3/2008 2:53:22 PM
Negative. My mom has it instilled in me that the house will burn down if I do.
8/3/2008 3:02:50 PM
just like mom said stop playing with it your going to go blind
8/3/2008 3:04:26 PM
the piano?
8/3/2008 3:36:59 PM
sure do
8/3/2008 4:36:42 PM
Nope, with my inherent luck the first time I do it, I'll burn down not only my apartment but my whole complex as well. Every time I leave I basically think if I leave with it on I'll most likely have my clothes dry but just might end up roasting my neighbors' kids, or I can just wait an hour for it to be done when I get back and make sure it doesn't happen. It doesn't help that I've put one in already a while back that made a loud pop and smoke started billowing out. The apt stunk for a solid week.
8/3/2008 5:02:24 PM
The dryer has never started a fire when I'm home, so I'll assume that the 1% of the time that I'm not home and it's running will result in the same outcome.
8/3/2008 5:41:23 PM
when i bought my house the house inspector said this was the #1 cause of fires in homes. he even said that his own dryer caught fire but luckily he was home when it happened.
8/3/2008 9:59:09 PM
8/3/2008 10:05:14 PM
the people that leave their house and say oh it will be alright were only going out for a min. and come home to a crispy house. im not saying as soon as you leave its going to go up in flames, but you should get the jist of what im sayin
8/3/2008 10:10:45 PM
I know I'm not supposed to, but I have done it.
8/3/2008 10:23:09 PM
Shit, I only run the dryer when I'm gone.If the house is gonna burn down I don't wanna be in it.
8/3/2008 10:25:38 PM
most of the time when the lint catches fire it burns out before the flames leave the dryer.
8/3/2008 10:41:20 PM
8/3/2008 10:44:02 PM
I've had to put out a few dryer fires with our local fire dept, so I don't leave mine on. if you're home and a dryer catches on fire, most of the time you can put it out before it causes serious damage. If you're gone, the house might be burnt up before anyone knows there is a fire.
8/3/2008 11:06:21 PM
Never.
8/3/2008 11:09:18 PM
sure.
8/3/2008 11:10:15 PM
