I was reading a gossip magazine at work the other day, and the Obama's don't buy their kids birthday presents. They say that spending lots on sleepovers and such is present enough. One of the kids made a comment saying that "I know there's a Santa Claus because they would never buy us presents like that." (not an exact quote, but along those lines.)

I think its a good way to keep them balanced and teach them limits.

I agree, but I think they are going to the other extreme a bit considering they are making a million. The normal more common extreme is single mothers making 15,000 a year buying their 4 kids new cellphones, games consoles, expensive basketball shoes, etc. Funny, they are usually black too.
