The problem I have with it is that the google car just kept driving. It really shows the state of society.I know a guy who was side swiped on a bike, on the interstate. Rather than stop and help him, people just kept driving around him at 70mph while he was laying there.

A. Things happen:

How will I know? I will stop and I will sniff the person. Someone who has passed out from drnking would reek heavily of alcohol. You will drive by me? That's fine. I guess you know who I am, then!BTW, I don't drink. At all. Go ahead, call me a fag for that.

it isn't much to call 911 and say there is an unconscious person on the ground- no one said you had to clean up their piles personally also, someone commented that "no one drives the google car" on that link. not the case i'm sure, but it would be sweet to have cars that could drive themselves!

feel free not to stop and help me if i'm passed out drunk on a curb...i'm pretty sure it won't happen, so i'm perfectly okay with anyone's refusal to help my hypothetical stupidly drunk self to teach me a lessonthat said, i've stopped to help change tires on the interstate, picked up a homeless dude and bought him dinner, turned around (via overpass) on an (admittedly) not-too-busy interstate in order to pull a desk out of the road that had (presumably) fallen off some guy's trucki'm with 0EPII1 on this one

drunk people potentially need help just as much (if not more) than the people you mentionedflat tires and hunger are not immediately life threatening conditions. being truly passed out and drunk, however, potentially is one.

yeah well, being seriously wounded while sober or catching a disease makes a person "less fit" as well. so you think nobody should get medical care?[Edited on August 13, 2008 at 9:00 AM. Reason : ^^^^ "social" darwinism ]

both of you need to preface "darwinism" with the word SOCIAL. Darwin's theory of natural selection theoretically acts on the human population regardless of medical care. If that drunk guy you're talking about had already reproduced, he has passed on his genes and has fulfilled the "fitness" requirements of contributing his alleles to the next generation. i'd wager that most people who recieve major medical care do so after they have procreated.
