right. You're not gay - you're the pitcher, not the catcher.

Quote :
"The highest valuation presented on the show (the American version, at least) was $350,000-$500,000 for a c.1840 Navajo blanket.
"The people later told us," Elias said, "that after the show aired, they felt like prisoners in their own home. In addition to not knowing how to insure it, they didn't know what to do with the blanket and they were even afraid to leave their own house for fear it would be stolen. They wound up hiding it under a bunch of stuff in the bottom of a closet," he said."

I'm really good at predicting values on Antiques Roadshow. I guess that's why I made $10k or so off eBay in the last couple of years.

i remember one episode in which a woman brought in a conquistador's helmet that she had been using as a door stop. I think it was valued at a quarter of a million.

That aside, i enjoy it even more when some ass gives some long description about their priceless item, only to find out that it's worthless.

I like it when they say something is worth like $3k and you see a small cloud of disappointment on the person's face right before they feign a smile and say "oh that's great."

Just because one piece of Chinese pottery sold for $25,000 doesn't mean your piece of shit is worth that. Be happy with your 1500% return on investment you fucking loser.

i thought bout punchmonk when i was watching today. This old military guy had an amazing, pristine, 250 year old chest, and these twin antique dealers were gushing about. They told him they would auction it off at their gallery for a quarter of a million bucks and he didn't even stay to listen. It was hilarious, like his wife forced him to go

The Navajo blanket was the most valuable thing to ever be on the air, but the most valuable thing ever appraised at the Roadshow was a collection of signatures from every president and their cabinet all the way back from George Washington up to Eisenhower or so. It was valued at over a million dollars and the owner declined to appear on television. I am a big fan of this show.

So a woman has a Hudson River Valley painting by Jasper Cropsey that her brother bought in the 70's for $7,000. That thing is now worth $300,000 and $350,000 if she restores it for a couple thousand. I would love to find treasures around my house like this!!!

I love this show!!!! Watching this makes me feel better in my heart, at least, while I am sick.

A woman could get $10,000-12,000 for her hat pin collection. AWESOME!

Raleigh Antiques Roadshow is on at 8pm on PBS.

The most expensive thing ever seen on the Roadshow will be on this episode.
