this was announced months ago i thoughtit's still popular with some photographers because it's one of the last forms of media that is taken at face value and the thought of "photoshopping" doesn't enter someone's mind - some company will fix this ]]

Yeah, this is old. There are simple programs for making your digital photos look like polaroids, but that is fucking stupid.Just get a holga and develop your own film if you want similar effects.Or if you want the instant satisfaction, they make cameras that print immediately.

Remember the little party polaroid thingy that took the small pictures? That sucked.Lets go buy some polaroid film and have a picture party!!!

12/11/2008 2:49:15 PM

12/11/2008 2:53:50 PM

12/11/2008 9:04:27 PM
can it be that hard for aftermarket replacement film to be made?
12/11/2008 9:40:27 PM
^probably. It's most likely just not profitable, or not profitable enough, otherwise Polaroid would just keep making it.[Edited on December 12, 2008 at 12:10 AM. Reason : .]

Polaroid hasn't been around as you knew it for years now. They've been run by a HC that took them over maybe 7 or 8 or so years ago, and have been sailing on name recognition alone. ALL of their products (except the instant cameras) have been rebranded cheap chinese junk.[Edited on December 12, 2008 at 12:42 AM. Reason : ]

its not like the stuff sold to main stream people walking into stores anytime in the last maybe 5 years.i think i worked for wolf camera for a year. sold maybe 2 packs of polaroid film. they brought it back each time because it didnt' fit.we had 2 polaroid cameras in store that i tried so damn hard to sell. i'm like "look its 20 dollars... your child is 7... get them the camera".. "nah, i'll just get them this little digital camera. then i won't have to worry about paying for the film"
12/12/2008 1:37:21 AM

I thought the patent on the film was purchased. Engadget tested it and said it was the same ole' mediocre photographic medium, except now it's like $4/frame[Edited on May 27, 2010 at 3:17 AM. Reason : http://www.the-impossible-project.com/ -found it]
