6/24/2009 11:25:33 AM
Mazda 6Reliable, zippier than an Accord/Camry, roomier than a Civic/Corolla
6/24/2009 11:26:08 AM
^^hard to go wrong w/ that route[Edited on June 24, 2009 at 11:26 AM. Reason : d]

Something small and efficient.Don't spoil yourself with something bigger with more luxury or it'll be all you'll ever want to drive.[Edited on June 24, 2009 at 11:27 AM. Reason : ^^ That's a good suggestion. Ford fusions are based on the mazda 6 as well.][Edited on June 24, 2009 at 11:27 AM. Reason : DO NOT get a pontiac aztek. Big fugly piece of shit.]

lots of people tell me jetta has lots of problems...i like teh rabbit though...dunno if VW is expensive to maintain...is it?
6/24/2009 11:34:12 AM
I love my 2001 Honda Civic.
6/24/2009 11:35:54 AM
Mazda 6 is nice. Ford Fusion could also be a good choice as they are very closely related, as Mindstorm noted. Honda or Toyota are always good choices, I tend to prefer Hondas but either one is a very safe bet. Scions are good cars (they're a division of Toyota) but as you said a tC might be hard to find for under 12K. Also, check out the Mazda 3...I've heard good things about them.I also like VW models in the compact arena (Jetta/Rabbit/Golf) but do be aware that if something goes wrong it will probably be more expensive to fix. Nice cars though.
6/24/2009 11:36:18 AM
VehiCross
6/24/2009 11:36:54 AM
it's the same as a honda. nothing outrageous. we have 2 passats and haven't had anything big go wrong on them. just do your carfax report.
6/24/2009 11:37:07 AM
Go to Carmax and get a brand with a history of reliability and looks pretty cool too. Honda and Toyota are definitely safe bets. Volvo is a good choice too, but isn't as cool, although that shit will last a decade, and you're more likely to survive a really bad wreck.
6/24/2009 11:37:09 AM
get you a used Infiniti G20
6/24/2009 11:37:48 AM
The 3 feels a bit cramped to me...all the trim is thicker/bulkier than it needs to be. The MS3 is nice enough to counter that, but you won't find one in your price range.DON'T BUY A GERMAN CARIn no way, shape, or form is a VW as cheap to maintain as a Honda is. ]
6/24/2009 11:38:46 AM
get a civic not a saturn like i should have
6/24/2009 11:39:04 AM

6/24/2009 11:39:49 AM
i like eclipse and heard about them getting stolen...i wont take chances here in detroit
6/24/2009 11:41:37 AM
Don't get an eclipse, it's made by Mitsubishi and will go straight to shit within a year of you getting it. If someone steals it they will be doing you a favor.
6/24/2009 12:22:20 PM
Carmax - look at honda/toyota, get the newest you can afford. You will appreciate this advice in the future.Civic/AccordCorolla/Camry
