Quote :
"Not content with having the tallest building in America, the owners of Sears Tower in Chicago have installed four glass box viewing platforms which stick out of the building 103 floors up.

The balconies are suspended 1,353 feet in the air and jut out four feet from the building's Skydeck. "

I just want to know how thick the glass is. Once I know how thick it is I'd be OK with walking on it. Heights aren't that big a deal as long as mentally I know I'm walking on something solid.

Yeah, I'm sure they'd put use thin, flimsy glass for that.

THINGS TO DO WHILE DOING DRUGS!

Add this to that list, my friends.

You might actually feel like superman... Maybe... I don't know how drugs work on ya (never used shit like that).

But now I'm interested in walking on one of these balconies at some point in the future. I wonder if the Navy has any business dealings in Chicago which I could fly out there for at some point in the future.

The CN Tower in Toronto has a glass floor. It was pretty rad to walk on.

London Eye isn't scary at all, overrated, but still worth riding

as for the other two in this thread, I'd love to do them, grand canyon wouldnt be bad out on it, just looking at it from a distance it looks pretty unsafe (of course it's not)

Yep. This looks cooler in that you're just surrounded by glass, though.

well, yeah, but you're not standing on it. it's just a big, enclosed Ferris wheel.

I saw a video on this the other day that showed how the whole balcony is hooked up to a track that allows the balconies to be pulled inside the building for easy cleaning

also, the balconies can support 5 tons of weight

This looks like something out of star wars to me. Mostly because it looks impossible, it's in the middle of a desert, and I'm expecting a hutt to walk out onto it.

Where'd you manage to get a poster like that? What a great, original idea. Is it next to your 16x20 glossy, unframed and hung with thumbtacks Starry Night print?
