Yeah, until that one time I still had a red hand print on my butt the next day. Then my mom made my dad stop because she was afraid I'd tell someone, and told me that if I told anyone about it I'd be put in a foster home where I'd no one would ever love me and I'd be all alone for the rest of my life or some shit. Oh yeah, they obviously liked to lie to me too.

I think that's about it. One time I lied to my dad about spraying perfume, and he literally beat me black and blue (and purple) with his hand alone - from my lower back to the middle of my thighs. I never even thought about calling social services, because 1) I had done something to deserve a spanking 2) my parents were always telling "go ahead" whenever I'd threaten to do so

If I was doing chores and I asked my dad where something went and he thought I should know, he'd grab it from me and beat whatever part of me was closest.

It'd be really, really easy to be bitter towards my parents for all they did wrong, but I've chosen not to be, and I'm glad. Part of why I chose not to be is because they did a lot right, and because they had so much more working against them than most parents.

I am a pretty decent person that has a lot of baggage bc of the abuse. Maybe I even need to get therapy. I really hope I can control my temper better than my dad did. I hope I never beat Maya but she will get spankings when needed. I already pop her hands. I am kind of with fredbot though, if I weren't beat so much, I wonder how I would have turned out? Like my younger sister and younger brother, prob.

You can raise kids and have them turn out fine without beating them. Beating them into submission is just for the lazy people.

astraladvent, having a high pain tolerance caused by fuck up parents isn't all that great. I've hurt myself and not realized how bad it was because I didn't think it hurt that bad. And getting doctors to take you serious is harder because on that fucking 1 to 10 pain scale what might be an 8 for others might be a 3 for me. Only good thing is that the cat likes to play rough and I don't give a shit as long as she doesn't make me bleed.

my grandma used to have a willow tree in her back yard. if you fucked up around her, she would say "GO GET ME A SWITCH SO I CAN WHOOP YOUR NARROW BLACK ASS!". let me assure you....few things in life are as demeaning as having to retrieve your own ass whooping switch.

then, foolishly, I would go get a switch. Crying....weeping....snot dripping out of my nose....I would stand in front of that willow tree trying to decide on an appropriate beating utensil. Thinking about which one would hurt less.

yeah i was never beaten, i just got things taken away when i was smaller. By the time i was like 10, i could do whatever i wanted without being caught. Never beaten, never spanked, never grounded none of that shit. I think my sister was spanked like once and my brother once.

then they put the FEAR in me so i stayed out of trouble

i was grounded twice in high school which entailed not being able to go out, followed by earning back my curfew, and not being able to get on the computer...oh yeah, and no phone

Break different rules called for different punishments. Lying, disobeying parents, being disrepectful, stealing, etc usually resulted in a spanking. Doing bad on school work usually resulted in video games being taken away.

After being spanked enough, I was FAR more pissed about being forced to "think about it" in my room than the physical punishment. Then again, I'd have no moral objection to hurting/killing my parents if there were not societal rules against such things. My whole life they taught me that physical violence was the solution to all of life's problems, so why not show them I learned that lesson?

I didn't have a ton of toys, but every kids has something they like that can be taken away. My parents never tried the send me to bed hungry thing because after they threatened the first time I hid a bunch of food in my room. They were too lazy to look for and remove all of it.

I, too, only thought about how much I hated my parents and not what they considered to be wrong.

But it still annoyed me, and did not make me hate my parents the way that physical violence did. Pretty much all they taught me was to lie to them and tell them what they wanted. They certainly didn't give me "good morals," only taught me that the people that try to have "good morals" are a bunch of hypocritical assholes that should be shot to make the world a better place.
