Maybe I'm spoiled and have the luxury of taking it all for granted, since I've been to the fair almost every year since 1993...but the fair food isn't anything to get horribly excited about. Yes, it's a key component to the fair experience, but that's not at all why to go.

I go for the food and the people watching. That's it. Fuck the rides. Fuck the freaks.

I heard they are going to have deep fried bacon this year. Get excited.

For me, it's all about people watching, and then the exhibits.

Last year was the first time I'd every been to the State Fair, and I'd never even been to a county fair before. Me and my gal just walked around and we road the Ferris Wheel, but that was about it. Had some turkey, cheese steak, and an innuendo ladden frozen banana. It was nice, I'd go back again with her.

I've come back from NY to go to the state fair every year since I left...

Fried bacon this year, yes please. Any other new fried things?

This commercial worked on me, not so much for buying what they're selling, but for remembering it whenever I think of the fair.

Also, I deep fried oreos FTW

I tried a fried treat for the first time this year and it was fried oreos with a raspberry sauce poured on top. Holy hell I never knew how fantastic they could be.

I made myself toss half though. Shit is dangerous!

My best trip to the fair landed me front row seats to two drunk carnies going at it, with a large female throwing haymakers at this older guy. A++ would toss rings at bottles again.

But other than that not really a fan of the fair

The Dixie Classic Fair in Winston is the only fair other than the State Fair that I go to. All the rest of the county fairs fucking blow. The Central Carolina Fair in Greensboro is a fucking disgrace.

Western Washington State Fair ... "Do the Puyallup" http://www.thefair.com/

I've been 2 or 3 times so far. I never cease to be surprised how many rednecks and morbidly obese people there are once you get out of the immediate Seattle area. i sure never see them in town.

i saw one on my way to badin lake a couple of weeks ago... I can't remember what town our county i was in, but it looked pretty damn sparse

^^^^I want to go one night this year... I went last year and all I wanted was the fried pb&j and I couldn't find it... so I got to spend my time being dragged around my your favorite girl in the world being nagged at for not wanting to ride any of the rides
