got a speeding ticket this morning at the holden road toll booth

the guy claims 52 in a 35 but wrote it at 44 since i was being nice

but in the "departmental use only" part he wrote my speed as "52 RSR" - assuming it means reduced something something but not sure.

just curious.

I got stopped at a roadblock on Tuesday on Big Tree Way. They must have been looking for someone, because it was at like 2:00 in the afternoon.

^^ haha, SO TRUE. Avoid that intersection and the area where wendover meets downtown with all the screwy crossovers. Too many places for them to hide.

I have noticed them posting up on the bridge at my exit (Mt. Hope Church Rd.) a couple times a week lately. The guy parks his car where you can't see it from the highway, then stands in the middle of the bridge with the radar gun. I assume there is a Cop Car waiting a little further down the highway to make the stop.

you're right about that, right there where the road floods at the train tracks sometimes. also wendover at 29.

its sickening. i'm doing what i can right now to locate other victims of the speed trap... because i was not doing 52 and i'd like to get this in the public eye

and the way the guy told me he was lowering it because i was cooperative, and that i could just mail the money in.. it was a script from beginning to end. the officer was really nice and just doing what they told him to, so i have no issue with him. just an issue with the town going about their fundraising in this manner.

i drive down that road every morning, i know exactly where they sit and that they are there every day. everyone around here knows about it, but every morning they're either sitting there or they have people pulled near there. it's insane.

i'd rather them raise taxes than get randomly picked off on my way to work. if they're gonna rob me, i'd rather them just take it instead of making shit up. greensboro used to be pretty good about this, i don't know if there's a new regime over there or what.

I'm not familiar with the part of Greensboro where you were robbed, jackleg, but there seem to be a lot of artificially low speed limits in town. And the cops drive black cruisers!

to play internet fighter, if you read what i said i wasn't speeding. which is why i pointed out that i pass it every day. that's the main reason why i'm looking for other people caught up in this nonsense.

to devil's advocate myself and pretend i didn't even know they were there -- even in normal situations... well, i guess i DO speed technically... but i always keep the needle between the speed limit and 5 over. never ever 17 over.

i think the cop cars up here are cool, and i actually think the cops are pretty cool too (as in they fight crime and don't bother people). i guess thats one reason this disturbs me so much, before they started doing this over the past month or so it was never like this before.

also... i find it kind of amusing that i'm so old and boring now that the only thing i have to fight over is a speeding ticket - and before anyone goes there, i don't have any other moving violations for about 4 years, and the 140 dollars isn't gonna break me. its the principle!!1 hiring a lawyer to fight it is more expensive than just paying it, and that's exactly why they do it. lucky for me i got dat hookup and my cousin is a great attorney, and won't but other people dont have that luxury, so i will fight for them!!!1

I've seen them do that before and there is usually a cop on the 40 on-ramp waiting or somebody will be pulled over getting a ticket before the Rock Creek Dairy Rd exit (I've only witnessed them doing it to the eastbound direction).

On a seperate note... who was the jackass that decided that they should bottleneck 40E to 1 fucking lane in order to finish paving this morning. That shit better be done now, it took me an hour to go from Mt Hope Church Rd to Rock Creek Dairy Rd...
