Come on Fermat, I didn't think you were a big soft pussy... anesthetic?

When I get one like once every year or so, I cut that shit out and I relish the intense pain during cutting.

Hardcore, bitches.

I'm not Fermat.

And seriously, if it is truly a problem then the odds of it coming back are quite high.

Phenol will fix this.

I have a buddy who gets these pretty much perpetually. Podiatrist has him scheduled about every 60-90 days. We were bowling once and he just says "I'm bleeding." I was like, WHAT? WHERE? "My toe is bleeding, I can feel my sock is soaked." We marked that pair of shoes so we never use it again...

The procedure takes about 15 minutes to do at most walk-in clinics. The numbing process can sometimes be tricky, though.

Phenol is cytotoxic and will stop the nail from coming back.

It's a tradeoff, but it's usually the best decision.

Do toenails have any real purpose I'm missing? I mean, if having to get them cut out every few months anyway why not just remove them?

Or there's always the sucking it up and getting a regular pedicure from a professional - way cheaper than doc visits.

Any male who goes to a doctor to have an ingrown nail removed is a complete bitch.

TUFF ITT.

^^ Well that's why you go to a podiatrist and have him numb you up, cut it out, and carefully go through and make sure to apply that phenol crap to stop it from growing back.

I did this to both my big toes. No problems since I did that back when I was a young teenager.

It wasn't cheap, and motherfucker does it suck when they spray your toe with cold shit and numb your toe with injections, but the problem will never come back (and your toenail will only look a little funny to the common eye).

I used to get ingrown toenails a lot... but then I had the "surgery." They cut a slice off each side and then cauterize the bed so your nails aren't as wide. Haven't had a problem since.

i get them but know it so every month or so i slide a sharp knife under the corner of the nails and twist it up to trim off the part that is growing under the skin. really easy if you do it before it gets inflamed or infected. i don't understand why anyone would go to a doctor for it.

ingrown toe fix:
take a needle/something else with a small point, and use it to wedge toilet paper under the nail. Keep working it back, and towards the edge of the nail. It exerts enough force to, over a day or two, if not less, lift the nail out of the flesh.

I cannot believe my mother is the only person who knows this trick, but damn if anyone else has ever heard of this remedy

That's a good idea if the ingrown nails are further back. Haven't heard it before, but I like it.

^^^they actually sell kits that do something similar. it's like a bandaid with a wedge in it to help push it out. same idea though. i dunno if they work.
