you may or may not be aware but alot of act write their own music and write music for others

IMO with a singer thats a bonus, i dont feel like a singer as to write their own music because their voice is (should be) the talent, not their songwriting

but like i said it is a bonus, because the singer isnt influenced by someone else's style if they write their own

Not denying that a lot of people enjoy the songs too, but a music legend? OMG a music act that actually writes their own songs and songs for others? GROUNDBREAKING!

Yes if you are comparing it to the other cookie cutter pop trash that is an image and a studio produced voice fronting for commercial songwriters, then yes it is a positive thing that she writes her own music. However, writing your own music as a music act shouldnt be put up on some huge pedestal. There are a LOT more musically creative artists out there than her who write all of their own music.

99% of the time, you don't see me popping in random music threads like this in chit chat to be some elitist or anything, but when someone like her is being mentioned as having the ingredients for being a possible music legend? had to dust off the lollerskates.

she is one of the few country artists that bridge the gap into mainstream music. There aren't a ton of artists that are respected enough in country music to be accepted in other genres (maybe faith hill, tim mcgraw, a couple others) and to have the record sales she has at her age is very respectable.

Like her music or not (it is mediocre to me) it is respectable to have the following and record sales she does for her age in life. Where she will end up is a mystery and clearly too early to say legend or bust.
