no..they dont test for the h1n1 at the doctor but my flu test came back neg and I have every symptom..so they said it was most likely the swine flu...and gave me tamiflu

i was told swine flu comes back positive for type a influenza. i had every symptom and it was tonsillitis.

I was thinking I had the flu earlier this week. I went to the campus doctor to ask for a flu test and the nurse, receptionist, and doctor were all assholes about it. They told me that 'they don't test for the flu, there's no sense in it; and that the CDC don't think its necessary to test for it'. The genius dr. said that if he knew I had the flu, it would not change his course of treatment for me. So, I assume he either don't prescribe Tamiflu, or prescribes it to everyone. He said 'the CDC only recommends testing when its for epidemiology reasons'... I would think that a pandemic would be cause to test... but not at A&T! I guess that's what I get for going to a fake doctor. I'll pay my deductible and see a real doctor from now on.

wait, isnt all that basically correct?? unless you are having extreme symptons that are dehydrating you or otherwise putting you at serious risk, or you are very old or very young, all the doc can really do is tell you to stay hydrated and get lots of risk. i mean, people can die from the flu, but 99% of the time it is b/c they are too young/too old/have other health issues...

when i had the flu two years ago, i went to an urgent care place, they tested me, it came back positive, they prescribed tamiflu, and i started getting better very quickly.
