i'm a little paranoid about it right now. i've had a sore throat since yesterday morning. it was terrible last night and affecting my sleep. i've had the post nasal drip and have been sneezing. i'm hoping its just allergies
9/22/2009 8:32:40 AM
There are quite a few of my students who have it. I've gotten it already (one of the pioneers back in June!) so hopefully I will be immune.
9/22/2009 8:35:08 AM
how i got started. next thing you know im clam-tastic, my penis is dead to me, and i have the deep itch in my chest, fever, watery eyes, etc. + side, im not going to work at all today
9/22/2009 8:35:25 AM
possibly...feel sore and fatigued...nasal congestion...slight bit of nausea
9/22/2009 9:08:03 AM
i had it all last week, got a nice little vacation from work today is Day 13 and i'm fine now, just a nagging lingering cough.
9/22/2009 9:09:43 AM
my last symptoms were 10 days ago...but they were 103 degree fever, coughing up flem/mucus, fire/freezing streaks (either had goosebumps or was sweating through my shirts), delirium due to high fever (called my fiance mom several times and thought i had done something terrible when i had in fact just woken up from a nap), etc. I felt like death for a good 3 days. Tamiflu works wonders.
9/22/2009 9:09:57 AM
I have it horrible cough, achy, fever, tight chest...I'm also on tamiflu...hopefully it will kick in soon

damn it!!! feeling worse!!! how do you know if you have the damn swine flu? do you have to go to a real doctor or can they test you at minute clinic?
9/22/2009 12:53:44 PM
the test for it is a cotton swab (like a Q-tip) straight down the nasal cavity on both sides. and it fucking hurts. i would imagine any kind of doctor/clinic would have the test. and it takes 10mins to get the results, but the test is only 40-50% accurate. if it gives you a negative, you still might have it.
9/22/2009 12:55:01 PM
fuck me!
9/22/2009 12:58:25 PM
Friend of mine at Peace said her professor has a sign on the door that says "Enter at your own risk, I have swine flu." Who the fuck is going to teach a class when you know you have it and could be spreading that shit? Stay home, podcast the class, or whatever.

Fairly certain I'm on day 4 of it. I flew through DFW Wednesday a week ago and then again on Monday. I spent the week/weekend in a house with ~20 people in it and did wedding activities, then spent Sunday night in a casino. Heard on NPR yesterday Texas has been the worst hit state so far.I felt fine when I woke up Monday in Reno, about an hour away from Dallas I was feeling cold but thought it was just because I was wearing shorts and a tshirt. I bought a fleece at the airport and got progressively shittier on the flight from DFW->RDU. Walking through RDU I had the shivers and shakes. I took a zicam and still woke up about every 30 minutes Monday night with a massive headache until 6am when I took a double shot of nyquil and slept til 9.Tuesday I felt surprisingly pretty good, yesterday I felt like ass, this morning I felt shitty until about an hour after breakfast and I continue to feel better as the day is going along.Fuck a vaccine. Never had a flu shot, first time I've had the flu in 11 years.

my doctor said i had the H 4 or something like that. i wasnt really listening

Apparently, I was told by a few different medical professionals (doctors and nurses), you are not tested for swine flu until you are admitted into the hospital and so a lot of people are just assumed to have it. The test for the swine flu is a quite a bit more expensive and it has not been done often.[Edited on October 1, 2009 at 1:31 PM. Reason : the nasal swab is for regular flu]
