My list from a year ago

Atlanta-pretty nice. especially buckhead. I expected a big charlotte but it was more like a little southern version of LA
Atlantic City-decent. dont really need to go to vegas when you have all the casinos and its at the beach
Nashville-Incredible. This was prolly my least disired city but the downtown is amazing and reminds me of a southern version of NYC. One of the best downtowns in America.
Memphis-Slightly nicer than I expected but Beale st was way overrated
Charlotte-It was decent, much better than I expected

Its hard to have a list at all now after opening my eyes and seeing how great a city you don't expect can be.

Landshark stadium is probably the worst thing about Miami. You guys are ok as long as you are being technical and not including Miami beach, coral gables, coconut grove, aventura and sunny isles when you say "miami" becuase none of those are in the city of Miami but are usually referenced as "greater miami"

Care to clarify? Because it would seem odd if one had no interest to go to one of the world's top tropical party/relax/shop paradises.

Probably because I'm a teacher and its become instinctive to care about people selling themselves short in life and try to help them.

Miami is one of if not the most culturally unique areas in the country and the area was developed when the richest of the rich in the northeast began going there for the winter because it is a tropical paradise. Visually interesting as well, architechture, 100 types of plam trees, waterways, etc.

The only reasons I could think of someone not wanting to go are because they watched too much csi, vice, and bad boys and think they will die. Not true there are bad parts but you're fine if you stay out of them just like any city. Either that or they are just racist about seeing people from south america and cuba ride around in bentleys. Lots of money in Miami but not many high paying jobs. Many people are jealous of hand me down millionaires and pretty much every rich south american family owns a place in Miami.

Miami has changed over the last 10 years and I assume your parents were there many years ago.
